Hi. i have some questions.

recently playing with my i7-10700k and manage to OC @ 5.2 all clock with 4000MHZ VengencePro.

My other friend also have the same and exact spec (mobo/ram/aio) but it manage to get @ 5.3 stable on 93c temp.

while mine will crash at 5.3.

Both are using stock termopaste (from Ryujin AIO)

The only difference between me and him is the PSU.

I am using Corsair SF600 while him using CM WME 650

So question is , does the PSU matter or he just got lucky with his Proc.

here is my CPU-z validatation : https://valid.x86.fr/j0vnxj

Any master @ sifu care to educate about this ?

What the point 5.3ghz? 365 days running benchmark?

Nah, just education purposes, just want to know the limits and then use it as normal. Its normal to have curiosity when using K version, and try OC.

yes, your psu  too weak for i7, i did'nt know about your gpu bout i7 10700k atleast more than 650w. you can run but and psu can give power , the lower psu like 600, more volatile the output voltage. need more info about pc, like gpu maybe your cpu running and your friend both gpu and cpu are running. maybe.

Both GC are not installed. We try to avoid differences thus we only use the igpu.

So psu also give some variance and became a variable also for the oc result then.

Some asking me to check a current spike saying that irregular current at house also can make it diff.

According to guru3d stable at 5.1ghz with 1.5v
Idle 74w
Single thread load 116w
Multi thread load 248w
Watt per core at all core load 31w
Temperature at 67c on lcs
Depends PL2 short term maximum power draw for a processor

You saying your friend stable at 5.5ghz for how long? usually needed to be tested over 24 hour or week using benchmark like prime 95

From my personal experience try add more voltage hit the specific speed you needed optional fan directly blow vrm

Check cpu and system temperature slowly reduce voltage
Disabled cpu state 1 blah power saving mode

mine stable at 5.2 @ 1.38v but my friend stable at 5.3 @ 1.38v

what makes me curious is mine cant get 5.3 at the same sitting as my friends.

in theory yes I can push it up with more voltage, but that is not the question at first.
