Law of supply and demand. Supply is limited to 21 million btc coins, which is much less than gold supply

It doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure this out  biggrin.gif

Afaik, there is theoretically no limit to the supply of sub-units of a Bitcoin, eg when 1 BTC = US$1billion, a sub-unit smaller than 1 satoshi will be needed. The answer below in 2014 was when 1 BTC = <US$500 = no need to sub-divide 1 satoshi. .......

https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions...itely-divisible - how-is-bitcoin-infinitely-divisible - 2014
"If there is a need for them, additional decimal places can be added with concensus of the network. This is why some refer to "infinite" divisibility, because we can select the level that we need as time goes on.

The current level selected in the code (by Satoshi) is 8 decimal places (1 satoshi = 0.00000001 BTC) hence the nickname for the smallest unit currently possible for bitcoin today.

As a thought exercise, if a consensus of the network (miners, but also clients and server applications for compatibility reasons) decides to update to a version of the protocol that includes 16 decimal places inspired by your post, we could end up with a new base unit (1 satoshi = 100,000,000 gracchi) as well as nanobitcoins (nBTC), picobitcoins (pBTC), and even femtobitcoins (fBTC, 10 gracchi)

I have trouble imagining the need for such a thing, unless destroying bitcoin becomes a prevalent method of use. If it is needed the potential is there and will never dilute your held bitcoins, which actually makes it a problem some would love to see the need to solve.

Wtfish

Tx fee from Binance is 0.008 for eth, increased from 0.005. I checked luno 0.005 increased from 0.003. Just couple days ago transferred from wallet to luno only 0.001. 60% increase for fucks? Does anyone know if there is a way to adjust tx fee for binance like external wallet?

So volatile .. You can cover the fees anyway if you play big cash.

If you're trading, sure but not if you're accumulating. This means that at 0.1 eth, we're paying a whopping 5-8% just to transfer. You'd have to accumulate at least 10 eth imo for the current fee to be worth it. If using Luno I wouldn't mind but I don't trust Binance.

You try transfer with Binance dry.gif I don't geddit, exchanges cannot implement adjustable tx fee like external wallets? If they're profiting from it, they can still apply some spreads. It's a win-win.
