Let me take a shot at this. I am guessing his definition of 'price' is 'last traded price', which is essentially the last traded price that is transacted on an exchange by buyer and seller. Hence his view is that if there is a trade at 55k, even a low value one, that effectively is the "price".

Not exactly how it works in real life, since this viewpoint ignores volume, hence disregarding the buy/sell order queues.
