1) it is legally a stake in the company you buy
2) it usually generates dividends from profits from actual economic activity
3) you can estimate the 'value' of a share from its earnings, profits, revenue, projections, etc

Coins....

1) you are buying a position on a distributed ledger
2) no money generated directly, value goes up depends on newcomers buying from you
3) you cannot estimate the 'value': can argue it to be worth $0.01 or $10 or $10,000 as long as you convince someone to buy at that price

both also can profit from trading, but have to be aware of what the hell you are buying actually instead of listen to celebrity.. lol

more frequency trading, more opportunity that arises
