Hi, anyone's phone has a pink vertical line that appeared after the latest software update?
The line appeared suddenly on my phone right in the middle dividing the screen into 2 halves âšī¸

QUOTE(lambox105 @ Jun 15 2022, 09:14 PM) The only way to check this problem is to restore back previous firmware before update and check the screen If vertical line still exist, then is really screen (hardware) problem already I read that it is caused by the latest update. Could you be kind enough to guide how can I restore back tobthe previous version - before the latest update? My phone is a s20+

Just pondering. Paying >RM3k for a phone that has display giving such problems within a span of <2 yrs seems to not work out. If the display replacement costs RM1k, I am thinking of buying a new phone but cheaper....maybe arornd RM1k. Any kind recommednations please?

S21FE 5G has a smaller screen - 6.4 vs 6.7 on the S20+. The display is the same if not wrong - Dynamic AMOLED. Hence, better decide with caution.....đ

QUOTE(lambox105 @ Jun 29 2022, 10:34 PM) The 'lines' are hardware related not software Yes, that is right. Looks like a software issue created it by virtue of the heat. It is irreversible unfortunately. Only thing that the firmware update did was to mitigate the heat. I noticed this after the update. Phone is a lot less hot vs before the update.

With the broadbased roll out of 5G, would it still make sense to go for a 4G phone?
The prices are an indication of what is forthcoming. New sets are largely 5G while the older 4Gs prices are much lower.

Having second thoughts about spending too much on a phone which may give me some verticle lines 2 yrs down the road đ
Will likely go for mid range RM2k or thereabouts phone. If any issues, can get another with much less heartache compared to the current S20+. Skewing to the A73 5G.....

QUOTE(lambox105 @ Jul 6 2022, 09:45 PM) 4G not future proof Will be obsolete in no time unlike 5g models Agreed. That was what I am alluding to. Does not make sense to get anything short of 5G at this juncture.

QUOTE(lambox105 @ Jul 9 2022, 08:33 AM) With this experience, I was not keen to spend RM3k+ on a new set. Went for the mid range instead. Not so heart pain if kaput within 2 years đ
