Really exynos got problem?

No such thing for snapdragon set?

laugh.gif hmm.gif

Snapdragon also have but pretty rare

Note I answer based on the threads opened by redditors who own S20 and their experiences
Most of those who have the problem are
1.preorder sets (1st batch) and 2nd batch sets (after preorder sets are sold)
2.exynos units (be it asia, europe, etc) especially telco sets, but unlocked sets also do have

For snapdragon sets, those who have are those telco (US, KR) sets. I have not seen the problem in unlocked sets (HK) yet but hope not

Estimated ratio of exynos:snapdragon
75:25

if you want to know the root cause of GSOD/screen green/pink lines, here is it

QUOTE(MyProLife @ Mar 1 2022, 01:45 AM)
I suppose 20 models screen problems is likely due to LCM controller or display ribbon cable failure due to prolonged overheating (exynos might be one of factor, but don't forget others like climate/environment, battery charging etc)

Possibly also the reason why samsung purposely want throttle the performance of newer phones with bs GOS bloatware

Edited to clarify more about the issue
Off topic a bit: my s10 lite (also 2020 model) also suffered from similar screen flickering/BSOD failure within months and I had to sent it for warranty on early 2021. Until now still fine the screen. However some 20 users ran out of luck due to screen failure AFTER normal warranty expired (samsung may know this so for next time preorder give care plus warranty package bundle with preorder freebies like 22 series now)
*
basically is due to QC issues on the display controller/ribbon part. the connection become loose over time due to subpar adhesive that bond the display controller/ribbon to the display panel itself. the prolonged overheating due to several causes including prolonged gaming, very high brightness when used outdoors (in some cases including using it as car navigation on car holder), and other factors can cause the adhesive to loose quicker

the exynos 990 tends to run hot so that's why exynos version has much higher risk of screen failure compared to snapdragon

RM1.4K got write any spec
If EXY#### NO DEAL
If US Set NO DEAL

Better off get A52S local set or get S20FE from here and get the 5G version.

If you want to buy base on warranty better buy from here.

thanks. looks like it was a usa set. https://s.lazada.com.my/s.VUs9W

the hk set is over my budget. will probably go for the a52s instead. if a33 came with earphone jack, that would be my first choice for the 4 years os update.

I brought my unit (5g sd) to Samsung roadshow yesterday & they offered me 1.5k kn exchange for any s22 purchase. Imo it's good price but not sure if i should make the switch. Anyone who has similar experiences?

My battery is no longer aa great as in year 1 despite it being sd instead of exynos. Prior to this I've been using most of note range on exynos. Honestly speaking my battery experience hasn't been significantly different. The drain is still noticeable especially now it is year 2. Quite tempted.

For the upgrade to latest SD gen 1, you may switch and the trade-in offered price is quite good. Your overseas SD unit is acceptable for trade-in? I thought SME sets only...

If US set then good deal
If HK set then actually no if you have the 12GB ram versions (12GB RAM configurations is actually rare for newer phones, there are but not for normal or plus versions)
