If i need to change to a case that doesnt protect the camera

quick update

been using my s21u non stop

- set up
- restore
- install apps
- more set up
- more SOT used
- more sync in the background
- all these are done while plugged in to a charger

phone is not heating up till can cook an egg

instead, its just the same heat i felt from my note10+ last year

so... either Samsung already fixed the overheating issue, or the people on reddit/xda are just over-expecting as Samsung made a big deal out of the 2100

anyway, so far so good. happy with the phone


edit: also noticed my network signal has full 4 bars now instead of 2-3 bars back when i was using note10+

another short update:

- today spam waze usage while driving under the bright sun
- more apps set up
- more accounts are syncing/running in background now

- utilized the camera for a few mins straight, phone heats up just a bit, but bearable since i was switching between 108mp and zooming in & out, trying out different modes, etc

- still no overheating issue until feels like it can fry an egg

satisfied with the phone

battery not so accurate yet as its only day #2 haha

probably by next week can see the phone at its full potential

anyway, so not sure why the people on reddit/xda are complaining about overheating

maybe just a little heat they already say its overheating lol

or they are first time samsung users, or just hired keyboard warriors to give the s21 a bad name

Is there a way to hide the VO LTE icon next to the cellular bars on the status bar?

Can't seem to find the option to turn off/on status bar icons

- disable gesture hints
- disable keyboard button

But then both keys at the corner is slightly cut off

Currently i enabled gesture hint to counter this. But prefer to use phone without gesture hints

for the s21 ultra

after enabling natural mode for the screen

does the notification toggle icons and brightness slider bar appear more purplish instead of blue like Vivid?

back when i was using Note10+, setting to Natural mode can still see a more washed out blue for the toggles and slider.

but with S21 Ultra, its more towards purple

after peeling off it does feel high quality, i agree with that

but its still plastic in the end and its still scratchable

best to install a tempered glass for those who needs a piece of mind.

at the end of the day no matter how much you feel it works great for the ultrasonic sensor, its still plastic film and easily scratchable.

some tips:

1. for those who installed a full glue tempered glass, reset your fingerprint, start all over. it will read better
- it works better after that as the sensor will now read the accurate fingerprints through the glue on top of it.
- for those fortunate enough to deal with sakurazzz, you will know why he had to press the sensor there a bit. making the tempered glass to have a minor bump if seen from an angle.
- i guess those who DIY will probably not press the sensor area and let it dry as is. hence reducing the sensor capability.
- i've let sakurazzz installed my note10+, s21u.. no issues with sensor.

2. wash your thumb, clean it a bit, and wipe it dry while being a little damp, then set up your fingerprint
- no need to use soap, as it will only dry your finger's skin faster (especially if its dettol)
- by doing this i noticed it works well when both thumb is either dry or wet. however, when the finger is very very dry, then it doesnt work most of the time.
- one thing about ultrasonic is that it doesnt work well with dry fingers.

3. try to set up based on how you imagine you will hold your phone most of the time, the angle, how your thumb or finger will be
- instead of just setting it based on one angle.

this works for me, so im just sharing
