When the best time to buy a laptop? Talking about the best deal, discount or offer? What month? Black Friday?

Not looking to buy an expensive wan, just within 2-2.5k range for work purposes.

Thank you.

No need for latest models. I bought a few laptops for collection and restoration especially those with 4:3 aspect ratio screen.

Buy before you desperately need it.

For example, buying from online official store like Lenovo /Dell will took almost 1 months.

Buy before you need it so you can have ample time to shop around (more towards based on what you want) rather than being stuck (based on what remnants are left). Popular models might involve 4-8 weeks lead time.

You just missed one of the best.

“FRONTLINER” and “THINKSALE”, gave you great value as much as manufacturers’ profit margin, LOL

You buy when you need it. Otherwise, continue to wait and wait and wait...

There's always something better in the waiting game.

If you are buying for work, up your budget to 3-3.5k and you can get very good spec laptop like 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, 100% sRGB, Wifi 6, etc.

For 2k anytime will do. For expensive gaming laptop always wait until the middle lifespan so you get best price performance ratio.

I think more precise will be after the launch of new gen mobile GPU.

Generational gains from GPU is normally quite a huge leap (like 60-series can supersede 70/80 series of last gen).

But again, low end GPU don’t get much treatment. Throughout the years, low end GTX1650 is still a far cry from the industry average (1060).

So if you want to get high end setup, waiting will be beneficial if there’s a new gen GPU. For low or mid range setup, unlikely to have much spectacular change in performance from one gen to another, no big harm even if you’re getting older devices (so long as it’s cheap).

I think most sellers will have promo price every month to drive sales, 11.11 sales, 12.12 sales, xmas sales, new year sales.

If u are looking for a deal now, think i saw Acer chinese new year promotion still ongoing, their swift 3/3x laptops is within ur budget. Got free gifts too.

Most of the laptop prices has went up across the board significantly since then, due to high demand (crypto mining, etc.).

What do you intend it to use it for? Desktop replacement? Or mobile? Or light gaming? Or coding? Or content creation work?
