Good list and good explanations. I hope people do more reading rather than bashing without thinking.

One thing about myth four that wasn't brought up however is that Proton cars have better specs overseas than in Malaysia. You can get side airbags with a UK spec Waja to achieve the 3-star Euro NCAP rating. There is no official way to get that kind of specs in Malaysia. For several months the Savvy marketed overseas had airbags while Malaysian could not get it officially even if they wanted it.

Unfortunately Proton seems to believe that Malaysian lives are cheaper than UK lives.
*
i believe this is so due the rules and regulation of the country that require car to have at least airbags before being set on the road

correct me if i am wrong...

i only have to wonder what will happen if cars were cheaper here in malaysia
there are enough cars on the roads now as it is
hell....some families even have 4-5 cars

wife drives the ALphard...husband drives Camry....son drives the Civic....daughter drives out the City

and we complain of traffic congestion at the same time...
*
there is an article in NST yesterday about malaysian live to complain or something..

Pls dun convert the currency directly....
if u are comparing how much the citizen earn a month to bought a car den u will know y our country car price are so high....
juz imagine u got a 1-2k salary in uk.
with less den 10k u can get a car....
do u think that will happen in malaysia?
*
10k to get a car and park at your house in overseas, but to operate and maintain the car ?

try calculating insurance, road tax and etc and see....
not to mention their income tax is high... <-- since we like to bring tax into play

but of course their standard of living is higher

Dont put words into my mouth.

that forumer has a tendency to put words into people's mouth...

when people claim that their proton in their house is not giving them any problem at all, that particular forumer just dont buy it
and he will start with his same ole stories again

Well the article did not explain that the living standard in other country is higher.

A freshy in Msia start from >rm2200 and out civic is ~RM115k

In Spore a freshy is expected to receive S$2200 and above. Their new Civic otr only S$72k.
*
net $2200 or gross $2200 first ?
