I am using Lenovo IdealCentre Q190 with preloaded Windows 8.1 in it. Now i planning to upgrade to Windows 10. Can i do fresh install windows 10 using its OEM windows 8.1 key?

I tried with the W7 key and worked.

Are u using retail or preloaded oem key?

OEM key on the laptop.

So this method still work ya in 2021? because i read microsoft forum, some say used to work last time but not now anymore.

Direct upgrade from the existing Windows 8.1.

Try it. It is still possible. I just did it for a Win7 PC.

Download iso windows10 install , alot legit windows10 key on web if u know how to find

U can choose to download the upgrade assistant and upgrade via online, or download the ISO file

Coming from legit Win7 Pro MSDNAA key from my uni days
This MSDNAA key didnt work to install Win10 Pro.

I used a generic Win10Pro key on the internet. It did a trial version (to select Win10 pro).
Generic keys (aka: "default keys") for Windows 10 from Microsoft will allow you to install a specific Windows 10 edition you want, but will not activate it.

Then once windows can boot as normal I used back my legit Win7 Pro MSDNAA key and it worked to activate,

Haven try it out yet. As per my system doesnt show windows 10 upgrade option for my windows upgrade.

Create installation media using the official tool also cannot?
I see win8 is listed there.

Will need a separate thumbdrive.

Officially the "free upgrade in-situ" option may not be available since offer expired but doing it the long way still legit and works.

Meaning if windows 7 home >>>> windows 10 home, u using ur oem key back ya?
must have same version only can use right?>
