Ohhh. Wonderful šŸ˜€
Looking to use either one.
Can you at least provide some info on the Quartz & Sintered stone, like % of Quartz, thickness, degree of Heat resistance, brand or country of origin, warranty, etc, etc..
What will the premium tip cost like?

good question! let's keep thing simple and makes learning easy! first of all, a small introduction to everyone that "BIIG Renovation" is our company renovation arm.

quartz agglomerate is an established product that has been around for more than 30 years. it comes in a wide range of colour selection, ranging from solid colour for the minimalist to exciting vein filled colour that compliments any form of kitchens. quartz is a tough mineral that has a mohs' scale of 7 compared to diamond that has a scale of a perfect 10 and leaves marble in the scale of 2. not only quartz is tough against scratches, it is also tough against stain. it is a homogeneous, full body coloured product, renders quartz agglomerate as designers preferred choice when it comes to edge termination.

be it china made or branded good, the quartz contents within these slabs is between 90% and 92%. the popular questions that we have been getting all the while is as following, "what is the main difference between the branded good and these China made product?".

As for sintered stone, it is based on new tech and completely resin free. this has significantly enhanced engineered stone resistance against heat of up to 300 degree celsius. with the absence of resin, sintered stone will not experience discoloration against uv ray thus allowing engineered stone to be used internally and externally for the very first time. unlike quartz agglomerate that is made only using a single mineral, sintered stone utilised more than 20 minerals as to increase the material toughness, enables it to withstands greater compressive force during manufacturing and leaving sintered stone with a completely flat surface with only a +/- 2mm deflection for a span of 10.5 feet slab. when it comes to toughness, it is also measured at a mohs' scale of 7. you may say sintered stone is a performance stone! it has extremely high resistance against both scratches and stains! when i mentioned extremely high, i really meant it as the permeability against liquid is only at 0.2%. you may even use a permanent marker to draw on it and it completely clean it with mere soap and water! only one word i would use to describe sintered stone, amazing!

as for price wise, both branded quartz and sintered stone price starts from MYR 230/sqft and above. the premium colour slipped a little deeper into your pocket with prices start from MYR 400/sqft and above. both products shared the same objectives, that is to bring excitement to a new height while keeping the maintenance to the minimum.

for your information, we are also into home renovation involving building extension, floor and wall tilings (as high as 10ft in a single piece), custom made cabinets and cupboards and etc. I am a trained structural engineer with 18 years of experience in the building industry. feel free to approach us with questions with no obligation.

Thanks for the explanation.
As you mention "be it china made or branded good, the quartz contents within these slabs is between 90% and 92%".
How true is it ? As most higher end quartz seller will mention that low end quartz from China will have lesser % of quartz content like 50%, 60% and uses inferior bonding agent.

When this Quartz was newly introduced, it claim to be the new revolution with high resistance to scratch, stain, heat, etc, etc.
Then after years of usage the horror start to show. šŸ¤”

Mind sharing here, on the bolded part. Tq

Hi,

Yes, that was the way of the past. Many China made quartz agglomerate is now comprises of a min of 90% of quartz. The only things that never change is the usage of lower grade resin as to bind these quartz together.

Quartz has an excellent scratch and stain resistance. The same cannot be said for the resin. Hence the amount of resin used in every slab is kept at a maximum of 7% as to maintain the surface hardness. Quartz surface has a good fire resistance and it is non-flammable. However, it has an average resistance against heat, due to the fact that the resin used in making quartz agglomerate may experience thermal shock if hot pot is left on quartz surface for an extended period of time, thus leaving scotch mark on the surface.

Hence, for this reason manufacturer has come up with an improved type of surface known as sintered stone.

How different ic compressed quartz and quartz quartz
*
i am not sure i get your question but quartz agglomerate is basically a compressed stone. it is being manufactured via vibro compaction.

Is the installation for quartz stone and sintered stone similar? I’m not sure if any usual quartz/marble sifu can install sintered stone
*
Installation, yes. Fabrication, no. Fabricators will need training to fabricate sintered stone.

Would like to know how are the stones can be cladded on wall like this. Do you just stick it on a piece of plywood or is there anything else holding the stones beneath it.
