I think it is important to know why does cracks occurred in the first place. RC is designed to cracks over time as to ensure there is no sudden failure on the building structure due to various reasons (loading, soil settlement and etc) On an additional note, it is also due to dimension stability of a material against the changes in temperature that resulting to expansion and contraction of the material.

To ensure the sustainability of a building structure, proper repair works must be carry out on the cracks and not by mere paint. For those who have done so and felt that it is a short lived solution (only for 2-3 years), it may be due to the crack has continued to widen over time and it is obviously not a healthy sign.

Cracks like this can be solved by using Flex 200. This type of acrylic waterproofing is designed to be able to withstand UV so just by using it is more than enough, the only downside is this type of waterproofing has poor dirt pickup resistance and can be quite dirty after sometimes, if you do not care about the looks then no problem at all.

This type of conventional acrylic waterproofing can lasts around 2-3 years, If you want a long lasting solution, appoint a professional waterproofing contractor and make sure they do a proper detailing job (angle fillet & de-bonding tape etc...) and waterproof the whole exposed car porch roof.

I wished to appoint a professional contractor doing this waterproofing job but they quote around RM2k-3k previously. I do not know about the market price for doing such job but that price definitely i can't afford

Best way is to add a proper metal roofing over the whole thing..

Next is to silicone force fill in the cracks , flex200 weather bond and a few layers waterproof membrane paint..

Then finally cheaper is see a crack, bituminous seal fill the crack..
