my iphone XS fell into salt water recently and currently fixing.. Mobo seems ok.. and they are washing it with isopropyl as we speak but high chance need to replace LCD because my screen keeps flickering in green color.. The shop owner however said I can select few types of LCD replacement:

AAA = cheapest and should avoid
OEM = RM300 - 400 but may have performance issues occasionally
ORI = RM750 original from supplier?

I am wary and just want to know if its worth spending so much extra just for a new screen... sigh and thanks .

Iphone only works best with original parts.

My bro-inlaw replaced cracked screen before. Works for a while then touch got problematic. Now using back the cracked screen. Spare phone is ok.

I’m currently using an iPhone X with a cracked screen. Did some research on replacements coz my screen is giving me problems..

For third party, there are a few kinds of OLED. From what I gathered the best third party is soft OLED GX or JK, but these are expensive (shops call them “OEM” or ori coz it’s very similar). I think about rm700-1k.

Hard OLED are much cheaper but it’s more easy to damage. Colour accuracy also is an issue I think..

If you want original replacement you should probably go Apple authorized service center.

I contemplated buying from aliexpress and deliver here for someone to fix but suddenly phone worked ok again

No matter what grade you choose, fixing it outside is not ori. That's how Apple consider it. If going for original part is not your concern, I would say take the middle choice, RM300/400. If want to go for original part, send to Apple SC but surely will burn your wallet.

do take note, there is no "NEW" original screen if you replace outside biggrin.gif if you manage to get, could be some faulty phone they recycle the original screen which is still usable

either OEM / AAs grade, get the OEM if you want to use your phone for another few years...
