Stocks on the NYSE traditionally trade at a P/E of 20-30. Public Bank has a P/E ratio of 3.17. Top Glove has a P/E of 13 as the market leaders in a boom industry.
Do Malaysian stocks usually trade at a low P/E ratio and if so, why?

Public Bank is not at a PE ratio of 3.17, it is currently at 16x. The hotter Tech stocks like Inari is at 60x. Blue chips like Nestle and QL are at 60x.

My guess is Google did not update the bonus issue for Public Bank yet and the PE is still calculated against the previous share pool with a price of around RM 20.
