I have this problem today. I'm on Android. I was asked to update too. Just did a reinstallation, and same update message popped up again. Did the update again. Then waited and waited and waited..... probably a couple of minutes, and then I got the login screen. So put in username and otp and it went back to the same starting screen again.... then waited and waited for a couple of minutes again, then only the app opened.
