On the policyholder front, so far, I've not heard much. If you need some help on drafting the complaint letter to BNM and Great Eastern, you can get the sample draft here:
RM 2.37 billion mySalam misappropriation I believe I have also included links for BNM, Great Eastern and OFS complaints lodging purposes
The aim is ultimately for policyholders to be restituted. That is what the process is for. But I have to be frank here, it might / will feel a bit daunting. If you need any help with lodging the complaint, I am more than happy to help. But additional measures like pursuing this matter with lawyers, that is something you may likely have to do and have to do it yourself.

The links are as seen in this pic. Could you try locating it again on the substack app
The long and short of the issue: RM 2.37 billion was misappropriated from Great Eastern Malaysia's participating policyholders from its closed participating funds on 3 March 2020. The affected participating policyholders are all holders of policies issued prior to 2005. The whole RM 2.37 billion amount, which was paid to the mySalam Fund on 5 March 2020, rightfully belongs to policyholders. Translates to an average per policy loss of above RM 2k.
I just had a look at my files again. There seems to be underpayment. At end 2015, estimated average Asset Share value per policy for 'Multicare WL - Spe. Cash Bonus' amounted to RM 21.2k and RM 27.2k without and with Estate. Average surrender value per policy was RM 17.2k. Which brings the estimated average underpayment per policy had they been surrendered in 2015 to RM 3k and RM 8.5k without and with Estate.

Yes thank you Hafiz, I took some time to read through the article again and digest on what is going on and was able to find the links to the excels in the articles.
And from the looks of it, I agree with you that it would be daunting. And due to the complexity of the transactions, many policyholders (including myself to a certain extent) had trouble understanding on a whim therefore does not see how significant the impact was. But I certainly will lodge a complaint and raise awareness to others as this has a clear impact on my premium payment.
It also did not make sense to me that a product that was intended to use the cash bonus to 'cover' as long as possible after a lengthy period of premium payments, only lasted less than 20 years before the cash bonus balance is less than sufficient to cover for another 10 years. Maybe my lack of understanding of how premiums work might mislead my comprehension, but at the same time with simple calculation it really did come up with a gap. It shows to me that there is a high possibility that the underpaid portion, would able to last the policyholders another at least 20 years before needing to make payments for their premiums. Hence, that tallies to the amount of more than 10k per policyholder.
I am now gathering who else (people around me) that is affected and will lodge a complaint subsequently. I shall be in touch with you on this matter too should I need help on the channels. Thank you once again, for raising this matter to me.
p/s: To other forumers that may have been impacted by this or think that you have people around that may have been affected by this, perhaps you can share your thoughts or at least voice out, that we know how many people are affected by this. Or, if you think that there was no wrongdoing and the amounts were inaccurate, feel free to share your thoughts and correct me too.
