If you want real life data, 1-2%p.a return. Pathetic if you ask me. If you ask insurance agent they will tell you otherwise. Yes there maybe few funds which can give decent but they are few and far in between.

Majority of customer after buying insurance, the agent will just abandon them. Agent won't adjust their fund. Also try it, ask any agent about ETF and they look at you blankly. I tried from old and young agent, all same only

Good point above. I would also like to hear if anyone’s agent help adjust the funds. Mine never.

1. ILHP is a much older plan, it stands to reason that the insurance pool is very substandard already. Hence the quantum of repricing will be higher, all else being equal.

SMX is much newer, launched in around 2016.The insurance pool is likely not as bad.

2. We also don't know the history of premium adjustments. Was ILHP repriced before, but you DID NOT accept the revised premiums? Likewise, was SMX repriced previously, and you did accept the premium increment?

3. ILHP being attached to an older base plan, may have had different sustainability requirements back then. With SPE2, the requirements got stricter. They are even more strict now. Hence, you may have bought the older base plan under very aggressive assumptions (in terms of investment returns, future medical inflation etc) compared to the newer SPE2/SPE3 plans.

4. It's highly likely you already received annual sustainability notices to increase the ILHP base plan premiums, which you've conveniently ignored. The ILHP base plan is on sustainable to age 66 as opposed to the SPE2 plan which is sustainable until age 73.

EDIT: For both plans, switch to the new SHP. Pronto!

Hi bro and other Pros. Seek your advice.
In summary given a chance to switch to SHP (deductible) is a must due to the new rider is a newer “pool” which theoritically comes with more sustainable premium increase rate?
The only downside is since the coverage is much higher now, in future repricing will be more expensive right.

Thanks

My agent did reply, but quite useless. It's like "Just accept the offer and wait for another increment." That's why I ignored her reply and asked GE directly. Unfortunately CS reply is also useless.

You can't do anything actually. The only choices you have are as below.

1. It's either you accept it and pay more premium now or
2. Keep current premium and
a. top up more in the future or
b. suffer decline in duration of coverage
3. Downgrade or remove some plans.

Side track but related. I get the same upgrade offer too. Weirdly enough, I just realize the details - my upgrade option 1 and option 2 are of same price, while in your screenshot it if different (which makes more sense)
Any experts can share why the cost to upgrade to option1 or option 2 (with 1 more additional rider) costs the same?

A trick to get us into new plan then charge us more during reprice?

how slow is GE communication to their customer?

I only received message from my agent about "LEVEL UP MEDICAL COVERAGE CAMPAIGN" and inform need to decide with next week or so?

I saw this campaign is starting since March until 30th April, but no email, letter until agent inform me, is this part of tactic to push customer to sign up new coverage?

same here, i only know this when i told my agent that i am thinking to cancel my current insurance a few days ago, then she suddenly told me you have been selected for this "LEVEL UP MEDICAL COVERAGE CAMPAIGN".  my another friend also doesn't know got this upgrade. i saw two options, option 1 - increment RM210 to 443.35, option 2 increment RM340 to 573.35 monthly. i have email GE for the details, but not yet receive a reply.

Campaign date from early March to end April. It is in GE online system and very easily missed out. Some agents did informed their customers.
If your agent did not inform us, then we know how important we are to them. Fact.

My request for policy alteration has been denied for using an incorrect "old" service request form.

The bloody idiots, I got it from your own website!

Plus, it's a basic request and there is no material difference in the forms.

Why are they linking to and hosting outdated versions of the forms on their website?

I don't have a printer anymore and don't wanna go get a witness signature again. There is no material differences in the form, at least not in the portions applicable to my request. What are my options? Can I compel them to process it and threaten to complaint to BNM if they refuse? Feels like so wasting my time only.

Is it the consent form? As policy alteration itself can be requested online (no need document unless its consent form)
I also downloaded from their link. Dont tell I also got the wrong version
