You could flash the custom ROM developed by Xiaomi.EU if you don't want Google Play compatibility issues. You could sideload Google Play and related framework on Chinese ROM but some apps that downloaded from Google Play might not work as originally intended.

QUOTE(andyng38 @ Jan 30 2021, 09:46 AM) WTA the experts here about phones like the Redmi 10X Pro 5G and the K30 Ultra. Chinese models usually work in Malaysia but have signal issues for Europe/Australia, those 2 will have issues in those places. Will the China ROM in such phones cause problems when used in Malaysia for online banking, airline apps, online shopping and Grabcar? Thanks Sideloading google on China rom will most probably not be certified since google is getting more strict and banking etc apps will not work. Check with the Xiaomi.eu forum to see if the devices will pass as certified on google play with the eu rom. |

Xiaomi starts to block users from installing GMS on its PRC version of phones, you might need to re-consider your decision to purchase a non-local phone.

Saw the writing on the wall and decided to go with a global ROM phone on 3rd Feb. Thanks anyways https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/02/02/xiaom...gms-miui-china/ |

QUOTE(msacras @ Feb 13 2021, 09:40 PM) Redmi K30 has an international clone brother. Just curious, does this apply to all China ROM phones or just Xiaomi? Or this is also applicable to non-GMS phones like the newer Huawei models.https://m.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone...0&idPhone2=9991 Try unlock the bootloader and load Poco X2 ROM, see if can get Google services to work. I'm planning to get an iQoo 7 and might see if I'm able to use banking apps normally. |

From what I heard thus far, it’s Xiaomi’s new policy for their China ROM phones.I'm planning to get an iQoo 7 and might see if I'm able to use banking apps normally. They pushed it further to remove GMS supports from their China ROM. Whether other brands will follow suit, we have no idea as Xiaomi’s new policy caught us by a surprise with unknown motives too. Only them themselves know why they proceed to block GMS from their China ROM (especially why only now, after US’ extend its ban towards Xiaomi back in Jan). woodentiger86 liked this post

Was scouting around between the Mi 11, Mi 10 Ultra and iQoo 7 for the past few days and almost all the sellers said that can use Google and able to install Playstore with APK. That's why the post from TS seems interesting due to the timing. Not patient enough to wait for the Global version to be released here... Thanks for the sharing bro. |

It (Xiaomi China ROM) used to be able to load GMS and Playstore just fine. That's why the post from TS seems interesting due to the timing. Not patient enough to wait for the Global version to be released here... Thanks for the sharing bro. But latest (and future) updates dubbed to remove the relevant supports. I reckon if the model have international variants, it’s still possible to flash to international ROM and have google supports (at least for now). It may work fine now but the moment any OTA or updates is installed, it may void the Google supports. Scary. |

QUOTE(woodentiger86 @ Feb 16 2021, 02:43 PM) Ah ok understood now. Like I mentioned, xiaomi pushed for a change in policy just recently. It may work fine now but the moment any OTA or updates is installed, it may void the Google supports. Scary. Under the new policy, China ROM may no longer able to support GMS and Playstore. Previously (even China exclusive Mi10 Ultra) have some aftermart easy supports for GMS/Playstore even they’re China ROM. At the moment it’s limited to China ROM, so international ROMs are still fine (till perhaps US really decided to further sanctioning Xiaomi like what they done on Huawei). woodentiger86 liked this post
