Since the RTX 3080 graphics card was launched in September last year, the graphics market has changed in four months, in addition to the price increase caused by the shortage of GPU chips, mining, tariffs and other factors have also driven up the price of graphics cards, and now face new problems.

This time the chain is dropped is the video memory, whether it is GDDR5 or GDDR6 series, they will also be affected by the entire DRAM industry, as the price of memory began to rise, the price of video memory also went all the way up.

Previously, Asus, Gigabyte, MSI and other companies announced price increases for graphics cards because of irrigation, logistics and other reasons, and now because of changes in memory prices, they are the slowest in Q1 quarter before the receipt of graphics cards show price changes, is expected to open a second wave of price increases in February after the Chinese New Year.

The specific price increase is still uncertain, but the RTX 3000 and RX 6000 series graphics cards will be affected this time, not only PC graphics cards, notebooks will also be the same due to price increases, had to raise the selling price in order to reflect the cost changes.

Damn man, my friend was gonna get me one from overseas but then he couldn't come back. Would have got a RTX3070 for <2.5k.

I told him to sell it and I thought I'd just buy from here and then the price skyrocketed lol. Should have told him to keep it first, at least then could make a profit.

Oh well, c'est la vie.

Also this is almost entirely due to mining, because the prices were coming down already in early December and availability while still scarce you could at least purchase it if you go look around.
Stupid ethereum and mining speculation and all the sheep throwing money at things they dont understand sad.gif

My old gpu still going strong. Replace the thermal paste and it's like new. Asus strix card really durable huh.
Imma stay with it for another year.
