I am planning to use a normal desktop cpu fan to cool my notebook...is there a way to make the fan to run on ac power?
I saw a fellow forumer did that a few months back...but i lost track of the thread already thx |

just get a normal ac-dc converter at hardware/supermarket etc.
switch to 9V or 12Vdc, make sure + and - is correct, then connect to the fan on red and black. red is +, black is -. you can also connect to ur notebook's usb, but the fan speed is reduced, and make sure the current spec on the fan does not exceed 500mA. |

ok thx...what u are saying now is just get a ac-dc converter and then get a fan which the spec must be below 500mA?

get the power adapter that changes 240v to 12v. the one that u can get when u buy the IDE to USB cable kit.
