I had post many time at hardware forum asking to recommend a cheap Mono Laser Printer with refill toner but not much response from the thread.

I hope some here will help out since during MCO , many document need to be print.

Requirement

-Any brand print document and picture b/w ( 600-1200 dpi and above )
-Wireless Mono Laser Printer can print using android phone with wifi direct.
-Below RM300 , still can top up max rm350.
-Accept 3rd party toner
-Able to buy a refill toner RM30
-Having software to reset toner replacement with 3rd party toner or hard reset.
-Drum inside Toner , (I think most toner are include with drum together nowadays)
-Even if possible , I can open and refill manually with toner powder ( refill pot can be open )


I am not sure most can be cover , what is important is budget , wifi printing using android apps , can refill toner 3rd party.
Brother , HP , Xerox , canon any brand as long as fit the requirement.

cheap one like FX 199 bucks haven't even finish print 2000 pages drum edi died; all black pages, printer feed always jam n become shredder when manual dislodge.

old brother hl-1430 - 400 bucks one printed 14k pages n finally died. ok lah.

Thanks , how long you had bought the printer ? usage pages printed ? How much for original toner ?
So you bought the same printer ? can use aftermarket toner ? are drums and toner separate ?

How well is the printing ? did you use aftermart toner ? how many pages you had printed ?

Thing is, wireless version is always more expensive. I'm using Canon one, aftermarket toner =rm20 plus.

+1 for Brother. The paper pick up device really lasts compared to the Samsung, Canon, and HP printers I had before.

I use pantum printer, cheap and wireless. Quite dependable also. Last month buy new toner online but leaks. the technician come to my house and give replacement free. For a 2 yr plus printer the level of support is good. Can print wirelessly from Android, iOS, windows and macbook

Printer used rarely, last time use ink jet but clogs all the time and I waste lots of money buying new ink.

I am looking at it but the top up is extra rm200.The price is between rm530-599.It is a bit high RM500.

The drum gonna die soon even with unlimited refill of toner.

My HL1430 (almost like microwave size) failed because drum failed (start to have streaks that cleaning the corona wiper doesn't help).
Starter (FOC) 3k = 3k
Own toner 6k x 2 = 12k
Actually more like toner failure (out of toner) after printing 15k.
Drum is rated at 20k but signs of wearing out (scratchy drum) already so I tot its not worth to try to squeeze the 5k drum life with another 6k toner (which costs 230).
IMO, for the 399 I paid and used at least 15k pages or more out of it, it was well spent.

So I bought that P205B toaster size elcheapo Fxxx Xerox for about 200 bucks.
Hopeless machine..paper jam every time print more than one page.
I still haven't finished the second 1k toner and its spitting full black pages for blank white A4 word document.

Wonder if I should just bin it or someone wants it as-is maybe can donasi away (but it is hopeless)

I would suggest for your case (high volume printing)
go with either of these. The paper tray size (250sheet) indicate it is ready to print many pages (high duty cycle) as compared to the hopeless toys without proper tray (just that ruler thingy).

pantum = brother knockoff

That Brother HL-1210w is a good printer even aftermarket toner can print over 3k.Enough for regular usage.

I really don't know pantum also a printer , never heard before.SO pantum copy brother ? does pantum have aftermarket toner too ?
but I don't think the printer have any android devices apps for it.

Bought from Tetrix via their Shopee as they listed a lot of Brother printers

Their prices similar to Brother malaysia website.

im using Canon LBP6030w
- wireless
- cartridge comes together with drum
- can use compatible toner - only RM25
- dunno can refill toner yourself or not but can buy 3rd party ones for RM25 so why bother?

It's not. Most brother printer the toner and drum is separate. Pantum low end printer is toner drum together

Google play giving Low star from review , only a few model works.
Color printer is expensive , get ready over 1k.Color printer doesn't look too good on laser printer if you plan to print photo.
Ink printer 1-2k was way better for color if to compare sub 1-2k color laser printer.

Most printer with the 'W' means wireless.Wifi direct means can print through HP without need to go through router.
I assume the parts inside are the same with or without wifi.3k is quite a lot already and still running.

My own is a Brother mfc2700dw - more than 10k+ pages. Used it during studies and I hate using iPads/Laptops when reading research papers. So Brrrrrr goes the printer. Though got it used from another student.

A catridge of toner can print aprox 2.6k & I've gone through atleast 4 myself

not really. some hp cheapest one is drum toner separate too, some is drum toner together, depends model. pantum and canon is drum toner together for their cheaper model.

Yea, Pantum app sucks lol. Anyway there is only few Pantum model in malaysia. For your budget it's p2506w you looking for, and the app works for this model

Colour scanner but mono printing

So far I read TS want Drum inside toner. All brand afaik only HP have that. brother/fuji come in separate so u need to spend 2x toner + drum

cheap doesn't mean good

From my experience, don't buy cheap printer.
Print slow like shit, paper always jam, my life reduce every time I have to use it

I bought a Pantum WiFi multi-function laser printer for less than RM500 (exld. shipping) from Shopee recently. Model M7100DW. Impressive functionality (no fax module - not important to me). Double-sided printing and scanning. 32ppm for single-sided A4 size printing.

For direct USB setup, very easy. But WiFi, a bit problematic - maybe my interpretation of the manual different? My home other PCs can connect to Pantum M7100DW wirelessly but direct connection only and not through the WiFi router (the connecting PC must be disconnected from the internet first before being able to communicate with the printer). Still scratching my head over this but not critical at the moment.

Bundled software - basic scanner - PDF and JPG. Weird way of doing double-sided scanning through the document feeder as it cannot do simultaneous scanning on both sides; once done on one side, you take the whole bundle and reverse the side and feed them in the feeder.

For its shortcomings, I think it's still a good buy. 2 years warranty (need to register online). Comes with a starter toner (700 prints of A4) and a drum (12,000 prints of A4).

Any opinions on Brother HL-1110 vs Canon LBP6030?

I got Pantum M7100DW, printing ok except the Auto Feeder scanning issue with Adobe Acrobat.
I scan a lot with Adobe Acrobat with its functions such as OCR, skip blank page, auto rotate.
However Pantum auto feeder doesn't work with Adobe. It only scan from flatbed eventhough paper loaded at feeder.
This is quite trouble, have to scan using their app, then transfer to Adobe to edit.
Previously using Fuji, Brother and HP no issue at all.
