Leicester were well below average today imo. Slightly better than arsenal, but that's about it. It's a blueprint for our remaining opponents in the epl and that makes me a bit uneasy. Heck even pep might give it a go in the final and realise our attacking play is extremely poor. Get a lucky goal and shut up shop, you know it's game over.

We dropped off in quality during the second half, just didn't look dangerous at all. Werner and ziyech were both disappointing, but giroud came on and we looked even worse imo.

All that constant chopping and changing finally got to us. To be fair to tuchel, this is practically the same lineup which overturned city in the semis, minus chilwell. City had sterling, de bruyne, la porte, dias, jesus, in their 11.

They outclass Leicester all over the pitch in terms of quality except maybe at striker, and we let ourselves down. We gave them a sniff in the second half and they took it, and from then on we just didn't look like scoring up till very late in match.

I'm beginning to think CF isn't our only main problem in attack, it's that lack of creativity which is killing us, and nobody having the basic football intelligence to find our overlapping fullbacks. Jorginho did it like.. once? Thiago finally pulled it off late, but I can't for the life of me understand why we don't do it more often. Maybe they're just not capable. A few didn't really come off so we stopped trying,which is just inexcusable.

Well that's great news. I'm worried because this team seems to lack that extra bit of mental strength to overcome the final hurdle. No drogba, ballack, cech, lampard, JT to pull us through. 2 FA cup finals already conceded to fairly average opposition is a huge concern imo.

Let's hope tuchel knocks some sense into them for our biggest game vs City at the end of May.

Not sure what tuchel can do to change the team's mentality. There were many times last night where they didn't look like they really wanted it. Like something is lacking, can't quite put my finger on it. They can go on excellent runs, but when things start going against them, huge cracks start to show. We become almost afraid to make mistakes, especially in attack. This is evident even from frank's tenure.

We're capable of overturning huge deficits like when we went behind vs ajax and west brom, but we fall at the final hurdle so to speak, when it comes to getting the all important winning goal. Against man city was a rare occurrence which we made the most of, but it's an exception rather than the norm.

I think it's time to accept that it's gonna take time to build (rebuild?) that winning / fighting mentality within the team, particularly among the youngsters.

Hard to believe the best we've looked in a big cup final was under sarri, who managed a much weaker team (sorry I don't buy that hazard carried us to the trophy BS), yet we managed to totally outclass a very good arsenal team AND smash them. Subsequent cup finals vs arsenal and leicester we've looked completely rubbish for long periods in the match, and any poor decision making by officials are magnified ten fold as a result. Consistently winning trophies is the only way we can instil that mentality imo.

Players like reece, mount, kai, werner, pulisic, are all extremely gifted, but in the end they've won nothing significant between them. When push comes to shove, they can't step up because they've never had to.
