Domestic shorthair is a common mixed-breed short-haired cat.
Cat breeds only matter for cat shows, for home pets they matter less than zero. I don't understand why people care about what breed the cat is.

Curiosity I guess. I googled for few days to find out what is the color type of my cat since for sure I know it's just domestic shorthair. Found out the markings is similar to Lynx point siamese. Sounds fancy only lol.

Exactly, I luv to learn more about my cats not just for fun but to understand them better, I would pay for a DNA test for my long hair cat that I got from someone to know more about the breed and so his personality, health probs etc if the price is not too much  rolleyes.gif

Ur cat is beautiful btw, I got a chocolate point siamese with tabby markings (I googled it too) and pretty blue eyes, quite similar to urs  thumbup.gif he is so vocal and highly demanding for attention laugh.gif

Lovely kitty. Is he pure bred Siamese? Mine is just stray cats offspring haha but very vocal too.

May I ask how much you guys spend in a month on cat food? I kinda dare not count the cost because mine are mainly eating wet food so the money spent is substancial.

Spending way too much on wet foods.
My 2 cats are very fussy and even though I have royal canin dry foods they want wet foods maybe 3 times a day. Often they leaving quite a bit.

I have tried many brands.

What wet foods are people using and you happy with.  I have bought cheaper brands but they just look and smell terrible. Pay a little more and you can see nice fish or chicken.

That's the thing... after eating wet food for some months mine don't really want dry food already....and the cheaper wet foods makes my cat vomit sometimes. Had to buy better ones but they eat about 4 times a day so my money is just flying away. Sometimes I boil chicken to add into their wet food, but cannot do very often because they don't like it. My cat also sometimes lau sai if she eats rice, so cannot add rice to her food also. Currently I rotate these few canned foods:

Fussie cat
Royal Canin
Carnilove
Aixia Kuro
Sheba

Thanks for your input.

Dry foods tried lots of brands but settled on royal canine as they often didn't like very expensive higher protein ones. They have been fine on that.

Wet tried sheba, fancy feast and others.  Also tried boiling or steaming chicken.

I think I will try keeping feeding times - easier when working but not so easy during lockdown at home when cats pester a bit and I give in too easily

Take note the canned fancy feast we have in Malaysia is not the same as the recommended one in other countries. If you read behind the can it says supplementary feeding only. I suppose if you are also feeding kibble and other foods then it is ok.

Does anyone have recommendation for automatic cat feeder? Plan to use it when I am away for longer hours because my cats are used to eating a few meals a day instead of the typical 2 times (Spoiled already due to 1 year of prolonged MCO) I dont want the unlimited food type because they are too greedy.

those good quality ones / expensive
should be ok.

y not let them eat 2meals, they should do fine, unless hv special needs.

For some reason both of them eat too much and puke if it's less meals. They won't stop eating until the food all gone, dunno how to space out their intake.
