May I ask how much you guys spend in a month on cat food? I kinda dare not count the cost because mine are mainly eating wet food so the money spent is substancial.

I have just 1 cat, 1 year old. Spending rm60/month for kibbles. I don't feed him wet food from cans. Only sometimes give him boiled chicken breast.

Also do you let your cats graze all day - I mean have dish of dry food all day or do you only put dry food down certain times.
*
I feed mine whenever he's standing at his food bowl. Just 1 small scoop each time.

He's pretty much a spoiled cat. I have been working from home for 1 full year (before getting him), so always need human by his side.

How do you guys handle needy cats?

When small, mine is quiet. After a year, he's become a spoiled, needy cat. Keeps meowing for attention no matter morning or night. Doesn't sleep much like a cat should be, just want to play 24/7. I do spend time to play each time, but i also need to focus on work and personal sleep. Tire him out by 1-2am doesn't work as well. Each night i think i'm getting only 3-4 hours of sleep before he makes loud noises again.

I don't have a 2nd cat due to cost and living in small apartment (most JMB disallow pets).

Have you brought him to a vet recently to check on his health condition? I will do that if his loud meowings persists into the night. Male cat so gonna be much louder. If meowings don't stop, confirm the owner cannot rest.

Didn't go to vet. Cos he becomes quiet and normal once i approach him to play. When i stop play and leave him for a while, bising again. So i think he's just attention-hungry.

How old? spayed? neutered?

Most ppl may not agree with me but I cage my 2 cats at night, basically they are trained from they were very small to be in the cage n sleep at night, they are already used to it, usually I will 'tuck' them to sleep everynight before I go to bed, n let them out in the morning so that they dont bother me at night. Sleep time is one thing I cant compromise coz I'm working frm 8-5pm except now that Im on my sabbatical leave sweat.gif other things like food they can have anytime  wink.gif

One of the advantges of training my cats to be in the cage is when i have to go somewhere for a while, i can send them to a cage based boarding place without stressing them out too much, that is if i have no other choices huhu..

1.5 yrs old, bola gone dy. I don't cage him since small, let him freely roam the house. All his toys (plush toy, string, box etc) are readily at the living room for him. But he die die wants me to play string with him 24/7. Dont want to play by himself.
