adult less chance kena parvo. parvo likes attack kitten (according to my vet). adult usually is fip mutation or other kind of virus. i have no knowledge on all this virus too until my cats kena. one really die of parvo due to surgery and unvaccinated. when i start to pay extra to do testing for stray cat before they mingle with my house cat, I get more knowledge as vet will explain to me once i test. otherwise, you go vet, you say vaccine, they do vaccine. you say neuter, they do neuter. they won't block you or raise concern.
I have a outside cat which was a stray cat before. I tried to call gov vet first and asked for spray but they insisted must get vaccine first before spray. I think there is the SOP.I had to turn to private vet to get the spray done coz it was very hard to catch the cat when it's still stray and high alert on human. If I can't get it done once, it'll lost trust on me and I might never able to catch it again.
After spray and the cat is now very close with me and healthy.
I'm getting same experience like you. The private vet here seem don't talk much with customer. I hope they can share and educate people a bit.
I actually learn more from those Taiwanese youtubers who have cats and they share a lot information.
Other than that, I think a lot of people here still lack of education about TNR for stray dogs and cats.
