MY soundstream XSC6 component after modify to full active, need 4 channel to push up. 2 channel for Tweeter and 2 channel for speaker. So may i ask 4 X 40 rms enough for this set component . Or it is not enough or Ngam ngam enough or more than enough. The amplifier is Blaupunkt BQA 160 4 x 40RMS . Wan to know If enough will try to get one of that. http://www.lelong.com.my/Auc/List/2007-08D...ut_powerful.htm

I think it's better if you get something more powerful than 40RMS.

Why? Or it is not enough.
Normally a whole component need how many total RMS to push up??

QUOTE(yzliew @ Aug 23 2007, 01:21 PM) Why? Or it is not enough. Normally a whole component need how many total RMS to push up?? It depends on the component set and good ones normally needs quite a bit of RMS to run optimal. For example, my peerless 6" needs 100RMS.

So Soundstream XSC6 need 150watt RMS to push up.
Then this amplifier have 4 channel x 40 RMS.So total is 160watt rms.
2 x40rms for tweeter 2 x 40 rms for woofer
then all 160 watt rms
so this amplifier is enough for this ss xsc6 150watt component??
or that is wrong calculation,is it not enough??
any sifu explain here..
thank you
but one more thing the amplfier that in the picture so small,no fuse and anything i believe 40rms can push but between the size it can done the job to push whole set xsc6 or not?

the peerless ones need 100w rms/channel to power up... not a total of 100w rms...
well... as for yours... i think 40w rms would be enough for your tweeters... but for the mid... it might be enough... normally for an active setup you dun need a great amount of power to drive your drivers(except for some power hungry stuff...) your amp power is considered sufficient for a beginner running active...
normal component set needs around TRUE 50w rms... but my pass experience tells me a low power good amp would be sufficient...
hope this helps...
cheers...

if u plan to use these amp, i will suggest u give up... the blaupunkt is the oem amplifier for some luxury car...which doesn;t really suitable for upgrade..unless u wan to get their oem sound ? (if u wan i got a few for sell..lolz......RM80 each)
the second amp will be a super chap ayam amp that are overrated and overpriced...not to mention their built quality and material used...
btw, xsc.6 midbass need >100rms to make it sound nice...the tweet >30 will be enuff..but if u really want it to perform, get 50 for tweet and 120 for mid....

I have amp power twt ledi. for now if i bridge 4 channel to 2 channel in 4ohm for the component woofer is it unrecommended?
i hear someone say dont bridge ur amp for ur spekaer unless it is woofer.
Is that true?
Torniquet has recommend me two type of amplfier:
KOLE AUDIO K-7500.4 3600W 110W RMS x 4 Channel Amplfier RM390 Made in USA
Pyle PE-354 180RMS x 4 channel RM370
which one should i go to?

try not to bridge the amp.. THD (total harmonic distiortion) will go up... goin active u'll need a crossover.. haf u got tat? o u plan 2 use to cross it using the amp itself? regarding the amp.. if u r determined to run active, do get a 4-channel amp n running on passvie.. get a powerful 2 channel then it's enuff.. o get a powerful 4-channel amp run both speakers(2-channel) n woofer(bride it to 1 channel).. Added on August 27, 2007, 12:57 pmbtw.. r the amps used? less than rm400 can get a made in usa amp? tat's great.. (though i haf never get to know the brand kole ) n rm370 for a pyle tat runs 180rmsx4? tats a bit exaggerating.. sorry if there is any1 here unpleasant wif this post..
