Hair need to use conditioner to prevent tangles. The hair doesn't need to be washed everyday because the doll doesn't sweat like us. Can probably get away with washing twice a week. Tangles happen when the shampoo removes all the hair's natural oil which makes the hair easy to tangle. Normally, sweat and living hair will replenish this oil but the doll needs artificial oil to maintain the dead hair. Use conditioners or hair oils to make it smooth again.

Human hair is implanted into the doll's head like sewing machine. Hair probably bought or donated. I hope.
