maybe ill take 1 step to d300, then only to d3
man 922k pixels 3" vs canon 230k 51 af point vs canon 9 af points looks like canon is gonna launch 3d very soon looks like nikon have reserved yet another high speed model....d3h? 10fps is not fast enough btw guys, seeing how nikon played with the d40 model, don't be surprised that a d3x will be launched 2 months after the d3 is released. Better sit tight and let the guinea pigs play with them first. But...who wanna buy my D200 + mbd200 + 4 X enel3e can start booking now This post has been edited by AlamakLor: Aug 23 2007, 12:38 PM |

I like the fact that you can use HSC to get 1.5 FOV on the D3. With this feature, you can use FF for landscape on the new 14-24mm or sigma 12-24, 50mm @ FF for normal lens, HSC for portrait. Well basically, if you want more reach, you can go HSC, if you want more coverage, you can go FF. It's an ingenious idea. I guess if people wanna go cheap, they can still keep their DX lens and use the d3 @ HSC

Even if there are samples, chances are, they will all be low ISO pictures. There's not much point looking at those ISO, I'm more interested in ISO1600 and above.

yup, but no point to use DX format on FX format, FF on FX = the way to go.

Apparently the D3 can only do 9fps @ fx format, 10-11fps @ dx format
Dual compact flash slot...wow.... look at the cam3500 af points layout: super easy composition, even n00b can become pro with a little bit of practice I hope the dynamic group af is a little smarter now, it always chooses the center point as main focus point on d200. Rob also says that the lcd refresh at 15fps....jerky. Nikon decided to put more pixels on the LCD than sensor |

I have no problem paying the price to be a "pro wannabe"
40D's noise is from beta pictures is very good, iso3200 is extremely usable. |

You forgot to mention about those n00bs who can't even handle a 2-3kg camera rig for more than 15 mins. The camera doesn't guarantee everything, but a good one sure helps a lot in many other ways. I'm building up muscle to better carry my rig

D300 @ iso6400 sample picture:
http://www.slrclub.com/bbs/vx2.php?id=newp...sc=asc&no=20929 looks better or like D200 @ iso1600 or less. Good, but not stellar after all the raves. Hopefully D3 is better than this. |

Yup, I've seen the samples. I even went and dig some of 1dmk3's sample at similar iso, the D3 has slightly less noise than the mk3. Now let's see if the new 1ds is as good or worse. I don't think those iso boost settings are usable...besides, i believe iso3200 is already more than enough in most situations.
