Hi. Today my mom got call from Maxis telemarketer. The telemarketer is selling some kind of portable internet device. My mom was so kind, she give telemarketer all her personal details - address, IC number etc because the telemarketer wants to verify her ID (?). And at the end my mom say don't want to buy yet, give few days she want to ask family first.

Then she got SMS from Maxis saying "thank you for shopping with us" and another SMS providing a link to complete the order. It looked like it only need RM1 to complete the purchase of the device.

Now my question is, did she already bought something? And is there a way to opt out from telemarketer marketing?
