Currently employed for only less than 2 months. I am a fresh grad and secured a graduate program position in an IT company. However after 2 months working, I find myself little to no joy in what I do. The only reason I took the job was because I wanted to start earning as soon as I graduated. However 2 months in, I began to doubt myself because the role I'm having now is so different from what I study (engineering background).

An opportunity came up for me to apply to another place, which is the Petronas graduate program. I may not get it, but it's something that I have always wanted. Just wondering, is it worth it to leave my current job which I still have few more months left to complete before being a confirm staff to join a the protege program earning <2k a month, with or without a chance of being a confirmed staff?

Confused and helpless here..

2feidei got opening, he can offer you job.

In all seriousness, best is to resign ONLY AFTER you have received another job offer.

Or else, gg good luck in finding another job in bolehland ekonomi.

In all seriousness, Petronas do not have enough permanent vacancies to give all their protege, intern, scholars.

Protege program is just like a training program. No confirmation of work after completing it, so may go back to being unemployed.

Better to stick with current job or find another job.

Protege does not guarantee you employment.

It is just a training program.

Better stick to your current job slowly looking into job ads that interest you and apply, leverage on the current experience you have now with the company.

Nowadays, you are lucky to be employed, the market is full with fresh graduates and those retrenched workers fighting to get employed.

Stay & gain experience until you secure a really good job that better than current job. You have long road to go, continue look for job prospects that you are interested with. Wait this pandemic over 1st.

I have 1 friend who is working with Petron*s. He say no increments and bonus for last year and retrenchment is happening on the contact worker in oil & gas field.
