Who pays for the fund managers' salary then? If sales charge 0% the fund company can declare bankruptcy already.

The fees are moving to back-end clearly, so it becomes less transparent, no upfront fee means more fees to take back-end as recurrent revenue for fund management companies.

There is a reason why iFAST's shares are doing well in the past year.

The "no-commission" promotion is nothing more than a marketing gimmick, not unlike the Robinhood model that attracted so many retailers in the States.

It's totally fine, nothing wrong with trying out. There are some good Affin Hwang funds too. Investors need to do their due diligence.

The thing I want to point out is that "there is no free lunch in this world".

If one merely invests because of "zero-commission", that would be a very terrible mistake. Otherwise if the funds suit your needs, by all means go ahead.

This is what I found:

Do I have to setup a new account on Allocate Plus if I am already an Affin Hwang investor?
1. You will not need to set up a new account if you are already have an i-access by Affin Hwang AM account
2. You will be able to use your existing i-access login details to access Allocate Plus
3. Similarly, if you are a new user who has set up your account on Allocate Plus, you can also use the same login details to access the i-access portal

Saw the equity fund is zero sales charges, just dunno is permanent no charge or promotion only

That's why it's call trailer fees. Service charge just extra. Part of the fund management fees is the trailer fees.

Sales Charge for transactions carried through the app will be 0% - ends on the 28th of February 2021.

after that the sales charge if purchase from this apps is permanantly (until further notice) as below:
The sales charges have been lowered for the App as all transactions are User initiated
- Equity Funds : 1.00%
- Mixed Asset funds: 0.75%
- Fixed Income Funds: 0.50%

There will be no switching fees - unlimited through the app.

some fund come with minimum rm50, some r minimum rm100

they do come out with COMBO (managed portfolio)
e.g : starter, slow and steady, adventurous, high fly, ............
minimum initial i think is rm500 (because i try rm200 n been rejected)

i oso can see my PRS that purchase through FSM in this apps.

Today story:

my problem cant be solve, propose me a new and temporary id dan password.

must activate first through i-ACCESS portal first, baru use the same id n password to log in the apps directly without any verification (may b bcoz they have my info through PRS).

i did a quick flip2 and decide wanna try money market fund (easy to purchase n withdraw ma) that FSM doesnt have
i stuck at process to transact , no respond after click......so i send the recording screen shoot to CS again.....

i think have to wait tomorrow

My opinion about it:
Lack of info in this apps like didnt mention minimum initial RM500 to purchase the COMBO (i find out after the click), switching, redeem......unless all same as mention in fund factsheet
lagging do occur (when i click, around 10s wait, not sure is my hp/unifi/apps problem....)
i didnt like the background music although the youtuber mention is special (just afraid will affect the performance of apps, i dun know)

i think if like this one day one problem, i may b invest completely next week

I have their I-access account which I used to purchase PRS before and can login into the apps. I didn’t really try on purchasing from them directly as I always transact through FSM.
But looks like your problem happened to me too I am unable to proceed transaction from the apps.
From the portal website after login I am unable to transact too.

Seen like I'm not the only one 😂😂😂.
Until now still no solution.

Finally had time to try the app and turns out cant even login lol...the app probably has some issues they havent sorted out yet...

The fund managers salary is mainly paid by the management fee. The sales charge is going mainly to the seller. But yes, nowadays it is the trend that the sales charge goes down (not the official "up to ..." which only complete beginners with no idea pay) and the management fee is going up.

Basically I am quite interested in this product, but only if I can select everything by myself, no "managed portfolio" please.

today tangan gatal wanna try buy UT through i-Access (Affin portal),click click click.....

tak boleh......tangan gatal lagi , whatapps tanya affin CS dengan picture sekali sebagai bukti (kali ini org lain , YXXXX).

lepas tu CS whatapps balik tak boleh, and dia call saya bla bla bla.........

conclusionnya ialah, customer iFast (sbb i buy PRS from FSM) should b cant create account i-Access (may b bcoz wanna settle my case so create one for me), bcoz iFast will complain steal their customer.

i mention that i just wanna purchase fund through Allocate Plus only.

so, bla bla bla lagi, at last, seen i oledi feedback to IT support team about my problem (through CS LXXXXXX), i only can wait .....

so, still no solution,

end up, i go FSM/SAMY/AKRU/.......flip2 again

when you click click at the i access to buy a fund....did you see that they got stated the sales charges to be incurred?

I wanna buy fund but no button to click.
U affin customer or u purchase prs affin through?
CS did mention ifast customer should b can't open i ACCESS account.

i have both i access and FSM a/c
(maybe now their policy changed??)

previously i have both DIY cash investment and PRS a/c with Affinhwang and FSM also

now i had existed all from Affinhwang since July 2019

if you happened to have the "Buy" button....do confirm the sales charges to be incurred
last time i kena one,...lazy to go to their office to meet my CIS.....i did it thru I-access.....kena sales charge.
my CIS told me have to go thru him so that SC will void...but since i did it in I-access...kane sc...

the thing was....the SC was not shown during the buying process.....unlike FSM where it shows.

just checked...can still access it after > a year dormant

My case, no buy button.
I last time when i purchase affin prs through fsm, i do try register i-Access but kena reject bcoz ifast customer can't register account.
Now my account only can view my prs n no buy button.
CS did mention i must register UT with affin baru boleh buy UT but ifast will complain if they allow me to register i access account.
So i just mention i only wan buy through allocate plus only, so she said wait the IT support to solve the problem,
I only can wait 😑😑😑

those who have invested via fsm cannot have i-access account. just received call from affin hwang. sort of protecting fsm interest?

But I said i want allocate plus only, they didn't said cannot le.
Wait they figure out how to settle 😒

But I can use allocate plus to purchase affin PRS bcoz my account is prs account in affin system

Just sounds very weird for them as they launch the app presumably to make it more convenient for their customers and to attract more customers.

Could it be they said that if you buy affin funds on fsm platform then you can't access that fund from their I access platform?
But still can create new account to buy funds directly from their platform?

I already shared earlier that if you're not buying directly from them, you have no access to i-Access.

The Affin CS told me that she can create a new profile for me if I want to gain access to i-Access.

I told the CS that I got active PRS fund with Affin Hwang since PRS fund is directly under my name while funds purchases from iFast/FSM or eUT are under trustee/nominee (hence may not have traceability).
She said even though I got PRS holdings with Affin, I still have no access to i-Access and still need to create "new profile". I was like what the ...
Then, I gave up without proceeding further.

why dun they just do marking to the ifast investor , so that can access to the fund that not accessible through fsm ma...

Yes, Allocate Plus got an android update.
I finally can buy affin enchanted deposit fund.
I buy 50 to test water.
I received email from affin that received my fund oledi 👍👍👍👍

I thought the min initial investment is RM 10k?

That why i wait Allocate Plus bcoz mention there minimum is 50.
But I cant find the floating transaction.
Just wait 2 days for update.
Most of the fund minimum is 50 or 100, only combo need 500 previously I try.
