QUOTE(WILSON LOW @ Jan 17 2021, 08:52 PM) I am 28 years old, just graduated Bachelor of Human Resources at private university. I am still seeking for a job. But, government was implemented MCO in some states, especially KL and Selangor. This was caused me very hard to find a job and unemployment rate was rose in previous month. The unemployment rate may increases again in the coming months. So, I am intending to pursue Master degree, but I have financial issue and I also need to pay back PTPTN loan for my previous Bachelor studies. I am confusing now. How should I do?😥 Forget masters. Work first.

QUOTE(roybreaker @ Jan 17 2021, 08:59 PM) You can negotiate with PTPTN to allow you pay once start working after your Masters. My friend did it and he took PTPTN loan from diploma> Masters QUOTE(WILSON LOW @ Jan 17 2021, 09:02 PM) I heard that can apply to postpone pay back on PTPTN website, right? If you do defer the payment, please check with PTPTN when will the interest kicks in. Previously, the interest was charged even when the payment was deferred. i am convinced that tertiary education institutions is a scam. you were made to borrow ptptn before you even know what a loan is, and then spend years to pay back for an education that didn't help you land a job.
a masters degree is a bigger scam. don't do it.

Let me give you a genuine advice ....
If you do not have any working experience... there i no point for you to get a masters
Masters only would help you when you are on the very top.... where you would need to impress the directors or CEOs
Don't believe those nay sayers that think masters is useless but don't think you can get anywhere if your sole purpose of getting a master is to secure your first job...

Hi, I am currently working while taking part time master's. Most master's classes are after working hours anyway, and most master's student are working full time to earn an income.
However, you still need to find a job if you can. Have an income while studying on the side.
I also take ptptn to study. But my plan is eventually quit my day job and be a lecturer. It depends on your career pathway.
If you want to do it, just go for it. The ptptn loan is insignificant to your lifetime earnings. What's RM40k at 1% interest if you going to earn a few millions by the time you're retired.

If for sale of salary, don't, don't give up just yet trying to get a job. Just try anything remotely close to your field. I think employers will have a hard time giving you a job to match your qualification but with no experience
But if you feel it's just for self improvement, sure, go ahead.
