I own one of the rare model, focus tdci mk2.5 sedan. Most you see are hatchback or mk3 sedan. Reliability wise, is very reliable, already put 220k km on it and never have any issue and the dct gearbox still shift like a dream. Can say this is the only turbo diesel car in malaysia that comes with dct gearbox.

Problem is the parts are not easy to find and expensive. RM2k for a pair of original lower control arm, RM450 for intake manifold rubber gasket. Even got also help ppl clear old stock, as a result rubber part won't last long even though is brand new original parts. Now i resorted to order parts from ebay.

Nice. How’s the Diesel engine serving you?

Yes I choose navara VL,  big discount, high trade in, hilux 2.4 no stock that time cause changing model

First month got the car, change the shocks absorber to adjustable... Felt like wanna puke when driving navara

That’s weird. Why? I thought Navara was reviewed to give the best ride and NVH among the pickups. Considering it’s the only pickup in the market with multi link rear suspensions instead of the usual leaf springs.

Is a PSA DW10 engine, in europe known to be one of the most reliable engine, can clock well over 300k miles (or more) without any issue. On top of that it didn't burn any oil and my coolant level virtually never drops, at most i only need to top up like 50ml of coolant at every 20k km. Only prob is the EGR tends to fail on this engine series, just blank it and calls it a day. And turbo hose love to burst, cause i drive it hard, now all the original rubber hose and middle interconnect section already upgrade to stainless steel and silicon hose. 1 full tank i can get 850km.

Ranger Raptor also has coil setup at the rear instead of leaf.
Rides better than navara or any other pickup on the market.

Ah yes the Raptor. Can’t comment on the ride as I haven’t been driven around in one before. But not so accessible to rakyat marhaen like me la..

Those cars can really run and fun to drive too.

Now very few and far between to find one on the road.

What a pity Malaysia never had the Ford Escorts from Europe since the Mk2 and in the 90s there were only a handful of Escort RS Cosworths brought in.

Ford is exiting the passeger car market in US as well. The money is now in SUVs.

That was a very nice car in its day.

Consumed a lot of fuel though second only to a Volvo and Mercedes of the era.
