Obvious he cannot afford the asking salaries of UTP grads who know their worth. The most humiliating thing which happened to my previous ex-bosses was that they were asked by their American and Mainland China bosses in front of me during outing sessions whether my salary was on par with industry standards and had they treated their staffs well a not? After that they bo song already, few months later when they started to act cold towards me it was time to throw in the resignation letter and goodbye.

QUOTE(ZerOne01 @ Jan 15 2021, 02:31 PM) Got one time hor I was driving approaching the traffic light in front about to stop, the person behind me just cannot stand it and over took me only to end up stopping at the red light in front. Like that also want to racing? Rushing back to a toilet? Few secs difference in reaching your destination also want to racing? Got what pingat? trophy? Is it because of the Tanjung Rambutan effect living in Ipoh that mental health is influencing the locals?

QUOTE(anthonywongy @ Jan 15 2021, 02:45 PM) People say, ipoh mali xda langsi. This guy here..... As ipoh-ian, I would like to say, you are one of those who ingat sendiri pandai sangat. Mempersiasuikan. Jokes on you. Having work along Malaysians across many states, you'll find that statement an irony because the people from Johor, Malacca, Selangor, KL and Penang are very more approachable, open minded, competitive and friendlier than Perakians in general. Most of the Perakians I meet in daily in public from experience seems to be cold, have that sort of mentality that the world belongs to them, they're entitled and not easily to ice-break with them to start conversations. They somehow live in their own world and pace.

It is no surprise that until today Perak is still one of the most underdeveloped stated in West Coast compared to the other states, attracted very little investments, and among the poorest state in the country.
When speaking to many outsiders the first thing they ask you from Ipoh? Your city full of youths who only want to be doctors and lawyers? Why Ipoh people very outdated and traditional minded one?
Perak has very little potential, nothing to look forward to deserve investments.

QUOTE(anthonywongy @ Jan 15 2021, 03:02 PM) Beg to differ that, Ive been back here in Ipoh from KL after living there since I was a toddler. I got no offense to ppl in KL or PJ at all, but when you mentioned Penang as being approachable, open minded and friendlier? Sorry, I dont agree. You meant they are open minded and approachable towards their own people living under the same state? Because I dont feel the same when I lived in penang for that 2 years. They are pretentious, belittling others to feed their self ego, heck even their way of driving are arguably the worst. Ipoh has its bad apples, same goes to the ahbeng in Penang, but at least most of us dont butthurt so easily, but I cant disagree that this Aaron dude is just.... You know 吹水佬? Perak still remain one of the poorest states in Malaysia with among the least FDI until today? I'm speaking from experience bringing up conversations with many outsiders from other cities. They tend to have a very negative perspective about Ipoh and Perak people once you bring up that you originated from there.

QUOTE(New Klang @ Jan 15 2021, 03:09 PM) Main reason should be Perak used to be the richest state as the tin mines had the biggest production in the world. Tin industry was like oil&gas, full of money. Ipoh was wealthy and prosperous. After tin industry died, Perak was in depression. Youngsters cannot find decent jobs. Workers not willing to work more. It's rich past and background further added to its woes and problems. Many of those families who made their fortune during the prime mining days all only wanted their strawberry generation children to study medicine and laws to take up white collar cozy professional jobs. There was little innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship spirit among the locals because of the laid back culture that shaped such outcomes. That was why many of the youths decided to look for jobs outside the city. The retirees and senior citizens who made their money from the past are obsessed about their health with many medical centres being built in the state. Property glut is also a growing problem in the state, the rich would just hope to invest in shops rent them out and enjoy financial freedom for the rest of their lives not needing to work.

Recruit interns by paying deductible allowances but make them work as full time staffs.
So called social responsibility telling the Perak government they contributing to the people by providing jobs to the locals. The gomen really buy these chinaman words?
I can assure you this tactic not only used by him to fool the local government the 3 big semiconductor factories in Ipoh all also adopt this tactic. They hire and fire every year by cycle to keep recruiting freshies on the cheap and infomr the government that they're very active in social responsibility in providing Perakians jobs.

QUOTE(lijor the great @ Jan 16 2021, 02:39 AM) wait, so your bosses felt humiliated by their bosses, retaliated against you, then you resigned? seems like you got the losing end of the stick....puzzled why you post as if this was a good thing... How is that I got the losing end of the stick? Company was not mine and I didn't had any shareholding in it. The pattern was almost every other staffs were leaving one by one. Every jump that I made my salary increased by 1.5x-2x fold with bigger role. Leaving Ipoh back then was one of the best thing ever to gain exposure to the bigger world out there which offer so much more opportunities. This sort of small companies are peanuts compared to the deals I sealed out there during my time which involved millions such as designing car park security systems for malls and large complexes. The kind of exposure opportunities which allowed you to meet up with VIPs such as Tan Sris and Datuk Seris from MNCs would never been rewarded if I'd stayed in this laidback conclave.
