Guys,

I have preordered the s21 ultra now. Prior to the launch, I have also registered my interest via Samsung website and they are offering another Galacy Fit 2 as a free gift for the early registration.

Irregardless of the price hike, the freebies itself this time around justifies the purchase of the device. Just my opinion.

Actually it's an email that's sent to you. The instructions to redeem are available on the email itself. Redemption can only be done after the 29th Jan.

Did you receive the email after pre-order? Or, even before you pre-order yours?

I preordered on the day the preorders were announced. But the email does not seem to be related to this. I think you will receive the email as long as you do the registration of interest irregardless of the preorder status.

I did my ROI twice, if not mistaken.

OMG ... so blur today. Made too many mistakes in replying message.

Let's hope so. Thanks again, bro.

You are most welcome. I think you might receive it later. A friend of mine who preordered later than me who also happened to ROI, hasn't receive the email yet.

Best of luck!

Wait till the 29th, do the redemption after this date and should be able to figure this out.

I registered as soon as the ROI was open and the email I received was on the 15th Jan. A friend of mine who registered a few days later still hasn't received the email yet. I presume its sent in batches.

I am perplexed by the fact why many are clamouring about the price hike here and also about the need to sell the freebies to reduce the cost of the phone.

The freebies are being given out so that your experience with the device as well as the the entire Samsung ecosystem is elevated. This is also being done to indirectly resolve complaints about what's lacking in the box.

- No charger - Let's give them a trio wireless charger that's also happens to come with a 25w fast charging brick

- No earbuds - Let's give them the absolute best that we have to offer now. (Pro for S21 Ultra)

- Anyone is even slightly interested, let's give them a Galaxy Fit 2.

This are all on top of the absolute flagship device that you will be getting. There are devices out there which may be better than this but there are also devices out there which charges a higher premium and does not give a damn about consumers.

You may be paying a high price now, but the elevated experience with the ecosystem is truly worth it.

Just my humble opinion. #notafanboy

While for the most part I do not disagree with your observation, it is for the pre-orders that buyers are getting the freebies. After that, there will be no more. And that’s when the prices of the devices will be deemed exorbitant. But if at all you are referring to the now, then you are absolutely right.

Those who are therefore concerned about the pricing should hold on to their purchase until such time that the prices come down which is imminent. That’s a given for Samsung mobile devices.

Ditto my friend, tough I agree with your observation too, the price being exorbitant is just but a perceived notion owing to the imminent drop in price after a given time.

For me what I look at is the value that the device offers. For someone deeply entrenched in the ecosystem, the value that you get from the device (not monetary but those that are intangible) are more important.

It is for the same reason people throng to apple devices when it's launched.

Values are relative. Intangibles have no value per se in the sense that it is subjective. So, yeah, if you value the ecosystem, the price you pay for a device is secondary.

But most consumers who by the way have much to compare with, will, given that other brands with similar specs do not ‘hawk’ their products with such premium prices. And I reiterate, values are relative. So, it’s up to each individual to decide for him/herself what he/she deems worthy to acquire and at which point in time.
*
Yes I agree that the perceived values are relative. My point again is that you either get it now with the perceived exorbitant price plus a lots of additional value or later at a lower price with none of it.

In both cases, it's a win win and there's no need to complaint.

Thank you very much! You mentioned that you've used this in the past, is it easy to apply.

Never applied this personally and I don't really have the steadiest of hands heheh
