I thought one plus or other brand got smart charging features where you set the time. Then it charges till certain % then will charge full on the set time
*
Pixel phones have this feature. It's called Adaptive Charging where you can charge the phone overnight and it will slowly charge and fully complete until your set alarm (ex 8AM).

The benchmark is out. Snapdragon still trumps Exynos. This, considering the fact that all cpu cores of the Exynos 2100 have a higher clock speeds.

I'm not worried about the performance but more on the battery efficiency which didn't get discussed by the tech reviewer.

Based on Samsung's history, they always include dual physical nano sim for Exynos variant.

I'm pretty sure the ad could be a mistake but Samsung rep should clarify this.

so native 1080p on s21/+ should be ok n not blurry?
*
1080p screen isn't blurry. 🤦‍♂️
It's just that QHD resolution is sharper.
Sharp vs sharper. This isn't VGA vs 4k resolution comparison.

I would not say sharper, it only applies if you perform software resolution downgrade and compare it to native QHD.
Higher resolution benefit is less jaggies seen on text, so the text will look more curved and natural like printed content.

This is the difference in how UHD 4K (left) and full HD (right) appear at the same screen size. The photographs of the icons have been taken at about the same distance from the screen. With UHD 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels), the display is enlarged 200%, and with full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels), the icon is displayed at the same magnification. The size of the icons is roughly the same, but as you can see, the icon is displayed in higher definition with UHD 4K.

If you wanna have a read can refer to this website but mind you, might be too technical for you.

Too technical when my profession is software programmer. Ok 👌

the display is enlarged 200%

Already a dead giveaway to make the difference more obvious in the comparison. A normal user won't look at the display that close but if someone does, by all means, they should NOT buy the S21/S21+. They will really get frustrated.

Anyway, I think it's safe to say that Samsung have done enough R&D to know why they opted for FullHD+ for the non-ultra devices.

Dude. 1280x800 is HD quality. It's the lowest resolution of all phone displays. Some more it's a tab with big screen size. Of course it's blur and not smooth lah. doh.gif

This.
I think some people forget that aside from the display resolution, a big factor is how large the display size is.
It will really be obvious if your display size is huge like tablet.

I am not an Apple fan but this is why the company "insists" that when viewing your phone at 10-12 inches distance, people stop seeing individual pixels at densities of around 300 ppi.
All phones, including the FullHD+ "only" 6.2inch display of the S21, have more than 400ppi which is way over Apple's "study".

I use Spigen on my devices but their s21 case lineup takes away the unique camera bump look. Good phone protection though

Samsung started pre installing screen protectors since the s10 series.

Most tech reviewer logic:
If Galaxy image is brighter than the iPhone, they will say Galaxy is overexposed. If it's the opposite, Galaxy is crushing the details in the shadows.

If iPhone image is oversaturated, they will say the picture is "colorful" or "vibrant". If Galaxy image is realistic, they will say it has "pale" colors.

Heck, even this year's Galaxy portrait has more detail than the beautified image of the iPhone.

Currently using iPhone 12, I can confirm the face filter is really aggressive. iPhone fans can't accept this fact and insist iPhone images are "natural".

Is it because their built in portrait modes already got beautify built in?
*
Apple must have changed the algorithm of their recent iPhones. I noticed how they brighten my face, make it a little orange/reddish as if you are glowing and smoothen a bit.

Gone were the days when iPhone photos look natural. It's not. And iPhone users should accept that. It isn't bad. They just need to stop lying to themselves.

Frankly, the gap between samsung and apple flagship when it comes to pictures/portrait - it's negligible .... no point in comparing at all. Where Samsung needs to improve is really the video department, where instead of cramming in a useless 8k 24p, they should improve the overall video output. This is the one thing that i hope samsung can improve quick ( and also allow us to remove all samsung related apps + bixby in the process) .

I'm still using my note 9 , battery tak boleh harap already after 2 years as im a very heavy users ( Bluetooth, GPS, streaming ) but i have to say it's still one of the best phone i've used!! I didnt get the note 20 ultra as the exynos performance is not that great for the asking price....
*
Actually, all flagship phones (even Chinese brands) already have excellent image quality. I just find it funny that people think iPhone images are natural when it's not.

On the contrary, recent Galaxy flagship phones have great video. The HDR video of iPhone 12 is relatively inferior than the HDR video of Galaxy phones. Again, all flagship phones have at least good video quality.

What Samsung needs to do is stop adding a lot of camera features because they are being criticized for it. They should just make some apps/features optional and let the users decide if they wanna add them via PlayStore or Samsung Apps store.

Wow that's fast! Could it be because they are worried we might go on full lockdown and might affect courier services or the delivery date is actually today?

How come SD import set can sell cheaper than Malaysia Exynos SME set?
*
S21 retail price in the US is $800. This year, Exynos is more expensive than SD (last year S20 base price was $1000).

Also, Expansys is Hong Kong-based and all HK set comes with SD and not Exynos. I once bought Note10 from HK which is SD.

Uhm.. not really. As opposed to other Android phones, Samsung counts the battery from 12 midnight to 11:59PM of the same day.
"Screen on time" on the top left corner is actually your screen usage for that day, regardless how many times you charge your phone.

The only accurate way for you to count screen on time is to manually click the bar from 100% (right after the green highlight).
You need to add all the bars from 100% onwards.

This is the same as how iOS shows the screen usage which is misleading users (or this could be intentional from Samsung and Apple's part brows.gif )

A lot of reviews showing S21U having realistic selfies but then some iPhone fans are still in denial saying iPhones have "natural" colors. LOL

Really?? Samsung advise not to charge overnight? Where to get more details on that?

Almost EVERYONE charges overnight

TLDR; Your battery will deteriorate FASTER if you always charge overnight than someone who doesn't have the same habit.

I am not interested in any benchmark comparison but only the camera comparison part.
