Hi guys, did anyone apart from me pre-order from Courts online store? I'm wondering why it has never been mentioned here lol.
They still have plenty of S21 Ultra stocks both black and silver, and theres 8% off promo currently. So I managed to get one 256gb for just RM4875
Am I missing something? Or are there much better offers which I don't know about from other stores

QUOTE(Josh95 @ Jan 27 2021, 05:42 PM) Woah, thanks for sharing I can say that you won't be able to get the free ANC Type-C Earphone, but the extra RM420 discount is much more worth it IMO. ANC Type-C Earphone worth RM 299 Haha the ANC type-C earphone would be useless to me anyway. Already got wireless earbuds so it'll just be something I'll need to sell off. Feels good to get RM424 off right away! And Courts just contacted me they'll be sending the phone over tomorrow

QUOTE(Josh95 @ Jan 27 2021, 06:11 PM) I almost plan to preorder on Samsung Experience Store this morning but I procrastinated. Then your post arrived, luckily I have not place my order yet. Now to enjoy that sweet discount  Haha I was also gonna pull the trigger for the 2nd choice Silver colour from Senheng. Then (luckily haha) it was sold out this morning! I almost bought from Samsung online or Lazada/shopee. Then so happened I drove by Courts today and stumbled upon this amazing offer. And they still have black! Damn curious though why no one thought of Courts before haha This post has been edited by Pyjamas999: Jan 27 2021, 06:26 PM

QUOTE(Josh95 @ Feb 3 2021, 05:49 PM) No need FPS meter, Android 11 got built-in refresh rate checker. You need to turn on Developer options to enable this setting though. Under Debugging, there is an option called as Show refresh rateBtw FPS and refresh rate are two different things. Maybe you can get this fact right 1st. I read the article too.. another interesting finding from their graph is that 1440p consumes less display power compared to when set at 1080p? Weird haha. When I turn on my refresh rate checker from developer settings, my display only alternates between 120 -> 60hz -> back to 120hz again when I touch the display. Is yours the same? I can't seem to activate the claimed 10hz VRR This post has been edited by Pyjamas999: Feb 3 2021, 07:08 PM

QUOTE(Josh95 @ Feb 3 2021, 07:52 PM) I have no idea how to activate 10Hz too. The panel is capable but I think the software has locked that feature. The lowest it can get is 48Hz, occurs when you watch 24 FPS video. I would have appreciate Samsung if they downclock to 30Hz for 30 FPS content/games or 24Hz for 24 FPS movies. Saves even more battery, just wonder why they not doing that for the Ultra model since the panel is capable... Yeah I tried playing 24 FPS video with Samsung stock Video app, the screen will manage to go down to 48hz but no lower. Hmm maybe their so called '10 hz' is only triggered by some very specific applications? Like those e-readers lol Oh well.. I'm surprised no reviewer, not even anandtech covered this. All just superficially say 'can go down to 10hz etc' but no one investigated it properly haha. You're right though, if the panel is capable they should have implemented like a full real time VRR
