QUOTE(vexus @ Jan 23 2021, 02:30 PM) Debated before, likely the smaller resolution at works.Higher resolutions = more pixels = more GPU powers required Some are suggesting the variable refresh rate may be at play too, but there’s no way we can confirm until someone do a conducive frame rates monitoring. |

QUOTE(Max2006 @ Jan 22 2021, 11:15 PM) It's because Samsung only sent S21 and S21 ultra to the tech reviewers. So none of them have the chance to review the S21+. I also dunno what's Samsung's strategy this time. It seems that they are purposely ignoring the existence of S21+. No wonder cannot find S21+ review at all QUOTE(mois @ Jan 23 2021, 09:03 AM) From targetting s21+, now eyeing for ultra due to screen superiority. 1500nits & 2k. Phantom blakkkkk Same, but still need to hands on 1st before purchaseHope the price drop faster like Note 20 Ultra |

QUOTE(msacras @ Jan 23 2021, 02:33 PM) Debated before, likely the smaller resolution at works. You are partially correct.Higher resolutions = more pixels = more GPU powers required Some are suggesting the variable refresh rate may be at play too, but there’s no way we can confirm until someone do a conducive frame rates monitoring. More GPU power required for higher resolution is only true or significant when you play moderate to heavy game titles. For displaying content, it makes negligable differences as modern GPU is very efficient now. Resolution is no longer a major factor dependent on using more GPU power if it just use for displaying static content or video. For example, 10 years ago turning on Anti-aliasing (AA) will impact the game FPS severely. Nowadays turning on AA will only have little FPS drop due to architectural and instructions improvement within the driver and the chip. Like I have said before in previous post, S21+ have longer battery life due to lower panel resolution. 1080p to 1440p is roughly 1.7x more pixel count. The extra pixel count means more subpixel RGB LED in it. If you wanna know, display panel consumes most of your battery life in a smartphone if you are not playing heavy title games. Variable refresh rate will only yield power savings if the content display is static (as it will downclock the refresh rate). For people who do benchmark on battery life, the display will be actively used so power savings gain is insignificant here (more applicable here since both S21+ and S21U supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR). Now for the most important question, hows the battery life performance of exynos2100 really? I rekon its gonna be inferior to sd888. Basicly both sd888 and exynos is made by samsung right, both soc is kinda similar minus the gpu, since samsung know the mali gpu not gonna able match adreno performance, theve decide to overclock abit the cpus to give exynos some advantage...so this overclock things gonna mess up the battery life again, just like last time when 990 fall short theve overclock the hell out of those chip in order to make it looks good against the 865 last time....

According to this test (which is quite limited IMO)https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=findpost&pid=99714331 SD s21 did win a noticeable margin over Exynos s21, but honestly speaking Exynos s21 had already doing better than average. It’s more like SD somehow manage to squeeze extra battery life doing the same scripted task. Real life usage may have different mileage. |

QUOTE(Nephrite @ Jan 19 2021, 07:58 AM) For the Samsung Galaxy Fit 2 yesterday I called and emailed samsung on the inquiry. Any outcome from their side? I raised 2 report because I ordered 2 unit of S21 Ultra. I registered for the ROI and I did not get any Unique Code email. Lucky during I register I have take photo and coincidently I got proof. Samsung team is investigating this and will revert back to me within 3 work days. Therefore I expect them to revert back to me by Thursday. I am still waiting mine.. |

QUOTE(Nephrite @ Jan 23 2021, 08:52 PM) Hi, from Samsung side still no feedback. Looks like quite a lot people did not received the code... Do update us the outcome if you received.. I also have the screenshot as my proof of submission..Daily i send reminder to them and they keep on saying that they are investigating on the issue. |
