Like I said, Qualcomm and Samsung over ambitious and over-claimed on the this gen’s improvement, especially the clock rates. The 5nn Samsung can’t sustain the improvement too well.

They should optimise on performance/watt first before going sky high on clock rates.

Can anyone understand Korean help to translate?

I found this post at reddit😅
https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS21/comments...tm_source=share

They say overheating causes throttling and brings down the performance 50%
*
It's expected since SD888 also having the same problem. It seems that this year flagship chip got the same overheating issue. It's safely to say that if you are a hardcore mobile gamer, you need to think twice before you want to buy new gen phones this year.

u guys buy smartphone to play games is it or just wan to research on the heat dissipation on all processor...lucky im not that into gaming thus nothing to worry much
*
Same here. I don't play mobile games. Battery performance is much more important to me compared to game performance. As long as it's not overheating during normal daily usage, then it's all good.

However, it's still too soon to make conclusion. Need to wait for full review first and then we will know the pros and cons of these new gen chipset.

Moreover, 90% of users wont need or reach such high clock rates but rather be pleased having the latest smartphone with latest processor. Most of them can't even tell the difference on performance. rolleyes.gif

Vote with your wallet.

Samsung thinks it is ok for them to remove SD card slot and a charger, yet no price cut.

so native 1080p on s21/+ should be ok n not blurry?
*
Nope, you guys might be misunderstanding the differences between output resolution vs panel resolution.
Output resolution = what ever resolution you can set via software
Panel resolution = the pixel resolution it comes within the hardware display itself and cannot be changed via any means.

It will only becomes blurry when output resolution does not match the panel resolution, this is where a lot of non tech savvy people confuse a lot. Why it is blurry, it is due to the fact the content is not pixel perfect map to the display. This applies to all modern display technologies whether it is LCD, LED, OLED or etc with the exception if you use CRT monitor.

If you still wanna simulate FHD+ on QHD+ display, to be still sharp and crisp looking, the best example I can give you is to use One handed mode. Because in this mode the content is smaller than the actual display hence it does not look that much blur. Another bonus effect for One handed mode, since the rest of the screen is total black (due to OLED pixel switch off completely), extra battery savings can be gain here lol. But will you wanna sacrifice the smaller display size? brows.gif

It is like telling me why does my PS2 graphic looks so blur when hook to a Full HD TV but not on my old CRT monitor. Here is the answer why.

1080p screen isn't blurry. 🤦‍♂️
It's just that QHD resolution is sharper.
Sharp vs sharper. This isn't VGA vs 4k resolution comparison.
*
I would not say sharper, it only applies if you perform software resolution downgrade and compare it to native QHD.
Higher resolution benefit is less jaggies seen on text, so the text will look more curved and natural like printed content.

This is the difference in how UHD 4K (left) and full HD (right) appear at the same screen size. The photographs of the icons have been taken at about the same distance from the screen. With UHD 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels), the display is enlarged 200%, and with full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels), the icon is displayed at the same magnification. The size of the icons is roughly the same, but as you can see, the icon is displayed in higher definition with UHD 4K.

If you wanna have a read can refer to this website but mind you, might be too technical for you.

A few reviews mentioned that s21 series doesn't come with pre applied protector film.

Have you bought from them before? Confirmed ori? Coz I saw a few buyers reviews. They bought from other sellers and according to them, are fake stuffs. I don't know how to differentiate them, ori and fake.

Too technical when my profession is software programmer. Ok 👌

the display is enlarged 200%

Already a dead giveaway to make the difference more obvious in the comparison. A normal user won't look at the display that close but if someone does, by all means, they should NOT buy the S21/S21+. They will really get frustrated.

Anyway, I think it's safe to say that Samsung have done enough R&D to know why they opted for FullHD+ for the non-ultra devices.

Yes. However, there are some people who will nitpicking and say the quality is worse than the QHD display. But in fact, some owners can't notice the difference between qhd and fhd, with their naked eyes.

See this video below. Some users think FHD is better and vice versa. The result shows it's a draw.

So the conclusion is, no need to listen to others. Just stick to the one that you think that suits you the most. It's your phone. You decide.

Dude. 1280x800 is HD quality. It's the lowest resolution of all phone displays. Some more it's a tab with big screen size. Of course it's blur and not smooth lah. doh.gif

This.
I think some people forget that aside from the display resolution, a big factor is how large the display size is.
It will really be obvious if your display size is huge like tablet.

I am not an Apple fan but this is why the company "insists" that when viewing your phone at 10-12 inches distance, people stop seeing individual pixels at densities of around 300 ppi.
All phones, including the FullHD+ "only" 6.2inch display of the S21, have more than 400ppi which is way over Apple's "study".

LOL, I have no idea you're a software programmer, although I can see that you're more knowledgeable about this kind of stuff compared to average consumer. Definitely not too technical for you, which is why I include the word might (maybe).

Actually the text comparison was not intended as a direct response to you but more of to educate consumer generally. I should have create a new post instead of continuing, sorry about that part.

I use Spigen on my devices but their s21 case lineup takes away the unique camera bump look. Good phone protection though
