I am thinking to buy s21+. But I would like to avoid pre-order that mark up price for free gift. When will be next big discount sale (without free gift) like 11.11?

I am asking because I cant wait for 11.11 too long.
*
Haha same S21+
Seems S21 Ultra is kinda too big and expensive

when i go google see samsung ultra 20 5g price ...
just half year drop till 3.2k for new phone...
i think i may be skip wait it drop till price ok, then i only buy > <
*
Ya why don't just wait until next year, when ppl buy S22, can buy cheap S21... in fact every year is like this one 🤣.. by that logic, for now you should buy S20.. next year buy S21.. always 1 year behind

It'd make my 10 years of android apps collection go obsolete. And since I'm comfortable with android, switching was never a question. tongue.gif

This year phone still using good(?) old lithium battery right? Coz before this there was news on this:

Samsung phone with graphene battery coming by 2021?

I think future phone will equip with this revolutionary battery tech...

Just went to Samsung Midvalley to check out, S21 Ultra feels big and heavy, S21+ feels like the sweet spot. Sleek and feels premium.

Anyway, anyone can input where is the best pre-order deal? Feels like everywhere is giving the same thing, except Samsung Online store can claim another headphone.

I have watched/read couple of benchmark reviews. SD888 is better than exynos 2100. But we all knew it would be the same old thing. So no surprise there. The most important thing here is how big is the gap between snapdragon and exynos in term of performance this round. If not much, then I would call it a success.

No way exynos can win over snapdragon just in one year. That's dreaming. Of course they will have to take a longer time to achieve this. Just wait for next year and see if they will break through after AMD joining the team.

As for this year exynos 2100, I just hope that the signal reception is good, battery life is good, performance is good, then I am happy enough.

Not really. SD doesn’t fate to win over Exynos yet.

If you take a deeper look at SD888 and Exynos2100, you will realise they’re almost identical on CPU tech this year. In fact Exynos is clocked higher than SD888 cores to cores.

Qualcomm didn’t tweak much off ARM reference design this year round, hence it’s almost identical to Exynos. And to double down on the similarities, Snapdragon this year is manufactured by Samsung too, thus the previous discrepancies caused by TSMC vs Samsung fabrication shouldnt happen again this year.

But again, other than the CPU, other parts of chipset may start to differentiate itself, especially the GPU and modems.

What’s interesting is even SD888 seems over ambitious and over claimed on the improvements this year. Samsung’s 5nm can’t sustain properly the improvements yet. The improvements (benchmarks and etc) are not sustainable unless the excessive heat issue is resolved thermal throttling to a lesser extent. This also translate to higher draws in power and lesser battery life.

Graphene battery is like Quantum computer.

Sounds perfect on papers and mentioned every now and then but nobody seems to be able to manufacture an actual working product just yet, KEK

I know. But there are a few test scores showing that SD888 takes higher score than exynos 2100. Not sure if it's fake review. Even the famous Samsung leaker ice universe said that different units show different result, claiming that optimization is needed.

Anyway, I don't care about the scores. As long as the performance is on par with snapdragon, then I am happy. Lol.

My main concern would be signal issue and battery performance.. the rest is secondary for my case.

My 2cents
- Exynos2100 likely on par with SD888 in CPU performance this time round
- they both likely sucks the same way in thermal throttling and power efficiency laugh.gif
- exynos might even do it a tard better in thermal as Qualcomm’s new GPU is just an overclocked old Adreno on steroid, which isn’t going to be friendly to power consumption

I am ok with point 1 and point 3. But point 2!. Argh! Just hope the battery life won't screw up. If not, then no point I switch over from S20+. May just stick to it if battery life is equally suck. Lol.
