i believe xiaomi using vapor chamber , which is already considered best of class in terms of hardware handling heat, n really the culprit
it seems more like a poor design of ARM cores, or lousy samsung fabs

if u understand chinese, can watch video below

no problem

thats y now is really exciting to know the performance of exynos 2100,

then we can know if samsung fabs is really lousy, or ARM designs poor core this year

Is it even worth upgrading or wait for next note?

Go search the video of new iqoo phone. They are also using S888 and they don't have the same problem like Mi11. So now people suspected that the culprit is on Mi11 design, or the optimization is poor. Either way, we probably won't know the real cause, until some expert dissemble the phone and check the internal. I recommend xyzone channel for that.

This, except for the assumably bigger heat generated factor, I hadn’t came across a solid claim that fast charging will do significantly more damage than slower charging.

Having to charge by day time indicate that guy may be a heavy user, where the battery will degrade noticeably faster compared to people whom don’t use their phone as heavy loaded.
*
Nowadays most fast charge tech claimed to have alleviated the heat issue by shifting the heat from the charging phone to the charging brick, for example Oneplus Dash Charge.

I'm not sure about Samsung though as they don't even provide the charging brick. Apple also claimed that its slow charging 5w charger brick is best for maintaining the longevity of your battery.

For me, I charge my phones when it's below 20% and max charge around 90%.

Why xiaomi mi 11 with SD can overheat?

*
SD888 is now known as SD810V2, the overheating fireball.

It’s due to the increased clock rate from SD865, but the manufacturing process of Samsung 5nm doesnt seem efficient enough to offset the extra powers, thus the chip consuming more power (and produce heat).

It’s even hotter than Mi11, LOL...

The video another guy posted above explained in details why the problem with SD888.

In short it’s because SD888 is like an overclocked SD865 (they overclocked the GPU on SD865 and get pretty much identical performance with SD888, LOL) and the worse this time round is Samsung 5nm doesn’t seem to give the die shrink improvement than TSMC 7nm did. I reckon the integrated 5G modem isn’t helping on the heat management either.

interesting, seems like iqoo heat mgmt with that big ass VC is superior mang

judging the size of VC on mi 11 compared to 10 pro, it seems to shrink abit

but this SD 888 indeed generates lots of heat , samsung s21 might upcar this time liao coz i dun think its VC is this big

Samsung appeared to use graphene cooling, like what they did with some of the Note20U. Strangely for Note20U, vapor chamber or graphene cooling doesn’t seem to affect the cooling performance of Note20U much.

From what I read , S21 is using pen , like the tab s series . Function wise , not identical to Note series at all . The basic pen only allows you to write & sketch . And also , S21 doesn't seem to have a Wacom's digitizer like the Note series , the backbone for the spen features

Pixel phones have this feature. It's called Adaptive Charging where you can charge the phone overnight and it will slowly charge and fully complete until your set alarm (ex 8AM).
*
Is there any 3rd party app that can bring this feature to our phones?

Wait for the next note - the s21 S pen support & latency is not as fast or smooth compared to an actual note. If you come from note, you will be pissed at the lag.

If you want a good camera, go buy a camera la... no point spending so much on a phone that costs over 4k just for the camera.
