This, except for the assumably bigger heat generated factor, I hadn’t came across a solid claim that fast charging will do significantly more damage than slower charging.

Having to charge by day time indicate that guy may be a heavy user, where the battery will degrade noticeably faster compared to people whom don’t use their phone as heavy loaded.

Pixel phones have this feature. It's called Adaptive Charging where you can charge the phone overnight and it will slowly charge and fully complete until your set alarm (ex 8AM).

i believe xiaomi using vapor chamber , which is already considered best of class in terms of hardware handling heat, n not really the culprit

it seems more like a poor design of ARM X1 core, or lousy samsung fabs
