After around 5 days of use,yes its cooler.
Never checked temps before but so far besides during the initial samsung switch, never felt the phone being warm to touch.
I don't game a lot so I can't comment on that.

Battery life especially standby time also improved.
Previously on my Note20U, can't last through a 12 hour shift at work with full 4g. Now from unplugged at 80% till finish work left around 20%. This is on full 4g with so so reception so if you are mostly on wifi/have good signal strength I expect you'd get better battery life.

To be honest, the most satisfying thing about the upgrade has been the battery life.

Other points that have improved
Screen - texts are sharper since we can run it at QHD instead of stuck at 1080p 120hz. Depends on people but it's actually noticeable for me.

Camera - even though both note 20u and s21u using laser auto focus, the focus enhancer mode that uses the wide angle for close shots works really well if you use the camera for close shots a lot. S20U has the worst camera experience sweat.gif

All in all am finally satisfied with my phone. After a year of going through the S20U then Note20U.

*I know the SD may have better performance/battery life. But can't bring myself to risk getting a phone with poor/no local warranty support. Have had good experiences with Samsung SC so far, S20U changed screen + camera module, note 9 changed camera module. All done within few hours with no fees.
*
Thanks for your detail explaination. The note20u having bigger square screen which I like the most. But I really cant tahan with the battery life and especially warm when heavy usage.

If I go for s21u, i will have to sacrifice the big screen and S-Pen. ... and of course fork out more money ...... not sure worth or not if just want to get better battery life.

I play few games only ... mostly play Tennis Clash ... and exynos990 getting very hot if I dont switch it to 60hz ... and throttled after 10-15mins ... very bad on n20u expensive phone.

oh my you're confused on what you'be missed out.

Note 20U comes with Buds Live
Pre-Order S20U depending beli mana, comes with ANOTHER Buds PRO (not Live), Fit2 (Pre-order ROI, or SenQ PO), Samsung wired ANC (Samsung online) on top the other Trio wireless charger and the useless SmartTag.
*
I dont miss it since I never use the Buds live also. Still inside the box. smile.gif

If money is your concern, then just keep your Note 20 Ultra. I have trade in my Note 20 Ultra with S21 Ultra due to same issues like you. But after 3 days of usage I feel only slight improvement on the performance. The 4G signal strenght no improvemnet at all. Hopefully no drop call problems like Note 20 Ultra last time due to poor 4G signal strength on Exynos 990 last time. Still 3 days of usage so I cannot make any conclusion yet.

IMO really depends on how you view your phone and want to justify the upgrade. For me it's because the phone is the most used device, so I don't mind spending a bit to get something that I'm satisfied with.

Well the most reasonable option is to wait it out, till 2nd half of the year or when the rumored amdxsamsung gpu comes as that's probably where you'll see a bigger improvement in terms of performance.
Or can look at other options eg oneplus 9 if don't mind switching brands.

Worth every bit getting a 5G enabled phone for you now. For us we can only wait.

Is the transition from 5G to 4G to 3G smooth?
*

So far I quite long didn't saw the phone prompt out a 3G network lol,
The transition i think is smooth when driving into tunnel, the volte call from 5G to 4G never facing issues
Btw Australia soon in 2024 will quit 3G network

If you want better signal strenght use phone with Qualcomm modem x55 chipset eg. IP12 series or Android phone using SD 865 or 888. When I swap my sim card from S21 ultra to IP12 ProMax, the 4G signal strength instantly improve a lots.

Thanks for your sharing bro. Now we know the 5G performance on exynos 2100 is good. So in future if malaysia finally implement 5G and if any S21 users complain about the performance, then we all know who should be blamed. It's the telco not the phone. Haha.

TBH, even 4G network has very wide coverage in Aussie and mind you OZ is such a huge place to provide network coverage and they still did so well. Malaysia would be pulling their plugs on 3G soon too... but then again it just talk. Our 5G is already 1 year behind schedule and talk is rife that it's going to be delayed another year.

When and what model did you order?

For the first time ever, I received a preorder from Samsung way ahead of it's advertised date. The S21 was stated to ship on the 5th of Feb and I got it on the 29th.

They never update their website, just send the phone directly via DHL. you will get an SMS before delivery. That's it.
