If let's say a person wants to change line has transferable experience and willing to take pay cut. Why doesn't the company consider them to start as a junior. Are these companies suspicious about something?
Will company be suspicious?

New in this line, but have experience , you can accept junior or above fresh grad salary?
What I see is if both candidate have no experience in this line, they would prefer take the younger one with related qualification, which normally demand lower salary and easier to be taught, just like a white paper most people age >30 have more difficulty to absorb as fast as young fresh guys This post has been edited by CSW1990: Jan 12 2021, 12:21 AM |

Are these companies suspicious about something? It's quite difficult for someone to go from senior to junior position. The boss know that usually this kind of person will be harder to train and easier to be dissatisfied. For the boss perspective, it's easier and safer to just hire the fresh graduate. |

key issue is that the senior may be a flight risk (senior knows that with the existing experience, he or she may decide to bounce back to original professional line and not stay long)
also, senior may ask for quicker promotions because more experience |
