Hi all,

I'm currently using an Alienware 15 R3 that I bought back in Jan 2018. Was thinking of replacing the thermal paste on the CPU/GPU since temps are on the high side now (esp CPU).
Any recommended shop which provide such service? Preferably in KL area as I'm staying in Sentul.

What is the issue of this laptop that happened suddenly ?

No idea what the power button LED color indicator meant !
Anyone can recommend a technician ?

just 2 years old alienware m15.

A week after warranty expired this year last few month ago, the system can not work suddenly.

Now its appeared to be something went wrong inside the board.
I removed harddisc, also can not boot in.

even replaced back the battery, also can not work.

10k unit from Dell can not work after 2 years...🤣🤣🤣
luckily no buying their EMC data storage server proposed by them.

wanna try hp n lenovo? or asus... sure giv u more "happy" experience in EMC.. i had heard the buyer worker got heart atk dealing with them.. u replace 3rd party battery n wat u expect?

i was mistaken their EMC is good. previously taken quotation for 100T but they dont have RAID61 configuration with their system. the priority data backup look good to auto manage new data and old data.

regarding lenovo, my friend using that X carbon series. she have the problem with data analysis. i rerun the test and found out, everything fine. previously, also think of lenovo gaming laptop. Its illegear good ?

recently, still attracted to alienware x15 the new series with 4 fans inside, sound great. I wander when will they using semicon cooler build inside.

i hvnt replace the battery at all. just the battery swollen suddenly. i have to take it out before it exploded, as it affecting the touchpad. i think the cmos battery dead suddenly too. i rarely facing cmos problem so far... i read their post, they claimed the cmos battery could last 3 years....

the first 3 months after bought, i face problem with screen flicking, USB can not function well with 3 USB port plug in with 2 HD and 1 mouse. then, they replaced motherboard and monitor, also the USB I/O. before i choose it, i almost want to buy omen 15 but bcoz alienware m15 came with 2 m2.5 slots and light weight. i everyday cycling and carry a heavy laptop, really burden a lot at the back of the verterbrate.

i face a bad experience just after the warranty expired. first was whole harddisc disappeared suddenly. then, the alienware logo change... After solved it, the battery swollen and now CMOS. 😖😖😖

recently, keep saw news alienware get sue bcoz of the GPU ... lol


by the way, mine problem is CMOS battery or motherboard got problem ?

i feel want to buy the battery from china, since the battery inside and many part also shown made in china =.=
waiting dell to let me know the price to extend the warranty too.

Here have anyone running linux with alienware ? i keep fail to run unix with it, every 3 days facing GPU thrilling suddenly. super weird

u need disable something at bios to run linux... alienware got sued becoz i advertisement state gpu can upgrade.. all new gaming laptop got thermal issue la.. not only alienware.. asus inherit heat problem for 15yrs de

at BIOS, i need to check.
bcoz even under window linux, also can not install cuda for paralle processing ... haiz..

by the way, where to buy 3rd party battery and the CMOS battery for alienware m15 ?

Dell technician told me to change it myself.
but, i saw the CMOS battery look different from other computer. ...

have you experience the issue that the Alienware command center keep ask you to download AWCC and it uninstall it. then, reinstall it after restart. it keep repeating nonstop the cycle this process .....

the dell technician just give me the part number. i can not found any detail or where to buy it.

i sent them the video of the LED pattern, ask them to identify for me. they replied, their system limitation and can not access. i need to verify it myself through the manual... bcoz i can not understand the blinking code that why asking their professional ....
