QUOTE(ray8426 @ Jun 3 2021, 02:02 PM) How many mbps you subscribe? unifi fiber 30mbps only.. modem/router at 2nd floor..the info i checked before E4 only up to 100mbps. If more than 100mbps, i will recommend M4 or M5 which support up to 500mbps. Malaysia only have E4, M4 and H4C, dont have S4. https://www.tp-link.com/my/compare/?typeId=...2C35804%2C48592 |

QUOTE(ray8426 @ Jun 4 2021, 10:07 AM) this way, Deco will be work as AP to extend wifi range. This can be work too. oo.. didn't know deco can replace directly the existing tm wifi router.. thought only serve as mesh. But my personal are change the main router to Deco. 1st Deco as my main router. 2nd Deco will be between the wifi range main deco. means the deco itself can establish pppoe and there is configuration for it.. right? |

QUOTE(evilhomura89 @ Jun 4 2021, 11:28 AM) The default router provided by TM is not exactly the best in its class In a way that might or will become a bottleneck to your mesh network By connecting deco directly to the TM modem (BTU), you are reducing the amount of unnecessary devices - save power, less chance of things going wrong and less headache trying to troubleshoot them and a tad better latency for your local network? QUOTE(ray8426 @ Jun 4 2021, 12:09 PM) ya.. knowing if use tm default devices, there could be some limited configuration.but wondering is the deco dual internal antenna is better than the tm wifi router (fiberhome sr120a) with 4 external external? QUOTE(ray8426 @ Jun 4 2021, 02:34 PM) FiberHome with 4 external antenna, but single location. both m5 and x20, over my budget.. furthermore im only on 30mbps unifi fiber.. i think m40 jz fine for me (i guess).. Deco with Dual antenna but multiple location in 1 house. For myself, i use Deco M5 in 1st. Then change to Deco X20, Deco X20 much far can go and stable. Deco X20 - Dual Antenna Deco M5 - 4 antenna and in dilemma whether to maintain fiberhome or replace fiberhome with m40.. not very sure the configuration.
