Want to ask,
2~3 week ago, Neighbour get 1 more unifi line, At that time hear tm contractor shout at behind " still no line" several time, From that time, my unifi no more line, Report tm, contractor come, check the box at pole, ok, can connect, Next day, neighbour call tm contractor, again no line, Report tm again, ask me restart onu/btu & router, Can connect, but after several hour, no line again, In this loop for 2~3 week, almost every 2 day report tm, contractor come, Yesterday, contractor come replace onu/btu from Nokia to Huawei, after awhile again same thing, no line... Is it possible the first contractor screw up the box at pole? |

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Apr 26 2021, 04:13 PM) What router are you using? Your own third-party router or TM's router? Have you tested your connection with a different router? tm dlink router...not test with other router as i not stay there anymore... but my new house i use own tplink change dns ok, no disconnection... as for the disconnection problem start around 1 month ago when the neighbor install additional line, that time hear contractor shout "no line?" many time almost 1 hour +..... |

QUOTE(supergen3 @ Apr 26 2021, 06:26 PM) Sounds like the fiber optic signal has weakened by the installation work at your neighbour's home. It's time to call the technician to check the signal strength from the FDP to your home. The fibre optic cable probably damaged by the installers. Yesterday the contractor test at the room, signal around 32.As previous got former say maybe contractor use splitter to split the fibre to 2, contractor can do this thing? It will affect signal? |

QUOTE(supergen3 @ Apr 26 2021, 06:45 PM) 32 db is above the upper limit of 28db spec. So my hunch is right, the connection will be intermittent lost. Ideally signal strength should be less than 25db. ah.. look like i going to report again....As for splitter usage, they will use this to increase the number of ports. This will affect the signal strength, by increasing noise above 28db. I think they used a splitter at your neighbours port, which had too high signal loss. keep pestering them until solve it... |
