Emm I just reboot my router for few times and getting different unifi subnet.
And found out that all of them having different routing issue to Singapore.
Example
1st IP subnet is okay for A routing network, but crap routing for B routing network.
And if change to another IP subnet, the result might be reverse.

Can confirm. I don't have any VPS instance, only use commercial VPN. Both my providers use M247 servers in SG, one has PCCW Global as a hop in the traceroute, and another has Level3. When on certain IP pool (currently 147.158.xxx.xx) the PCCW one is good but the Level3 one is dropping packets like crazy, but on another IP it's the opposite. Worse thing is the good/bad subnet performance changes around throughout the day. Started around 11pm last night, I believe.

Can i know which states you are located?
The problem start yesterday night and having 2hours of issue, and after than normal again,so I think it might be some overloaded issue on TM networks.
(It suddenly happens yesterday night while i was watching Twitch, and even now 5pm- Twitch(streaming data from SG Amazon node) also not watchable without VPN.

I am using Asus RT-AX3000 and I just realised it’s app has the internet speed test too.. super happy to see the result like this.

Wonder how come it’s different than the Speedtest
*
I think it's because the Asus app reports actual line speed at the router, while opening the speedtest website app or website on your phone measure the speed via wifi connection which can vary depending on the distance to router as well as the wireless chipset inside your phone.

Nope I’m using the Lazada app on iOS itself

How are you setting DNS on iOS. Is it a setting on your router, or are you setting the DNS in Settings > Wi-Fi > tap the little i next to your network SSID >Configure DNS?
Do note that the latter setting is actually quite buggy on iOS, and also doesn;t work on cellular.

You should really be setting DNS via Settings > General > VPN, DNS & Device Management
Search for "encrypted dns party" in Google/DDG. Sorry I can't post the direct link because I'm a new account on probation (lost my old LYN account email). The first search result should e the site. On that site, choose a mobileconfig file. Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 is probably the safest 'noob' choice. Others tend to do some ad/tracker blocking, which might block Lazada thumbnails as well. Justtap on it and download the mobileconfig file. Then in Settings, the option to install the profile will be there. After that, just select it in Settings > General > VPN, DNS & Device Management.

Note that if you use this method, it's better to Forget your Wi-Fi SSID and re-add it again, ensuring it's back to Automatic DNS. If not, it might override the mobileconfig.

i would just buy xiaomi router on higher end one, flash to openwrt and work it out from there.

openwrt is quite pain in ass though, but that's probably because i sucked big time. i've been trying to create dual ssid with one vpn and another without vpn traffic but i still can't make it work after so much testing.

on another side note, i went TM point again asking my SWU, then they said can't offer me 300mbps for RM129, only the 300mbps for rm159 package, they will try appeal again to HQ.

besides that, seems like they quite love their own TM wifi6 router when i said oh... the cap ayam router provided by TM. they seem quite aggravated and said it's a huawei lol.
*
I've never used "cap ayam" but I did once say "your toilet paper router" to the TM phone rep.

As for OpenWRT routers, perhaps GL.iNET.
They have a Shopee channel, I believe. Delivery from HK.
If I recall correctly, their current Wifi-6 router costs around RM500. Can't remember the model number, but it's nicknamed "Flint" I think.
I've used their smaller travel routers before, back when there was no coronavirus and I used to stay at hotels a lot.

This? Reasonably priced but out of stock lol
*
Yes, that one. Wanted to edit my post to share the page, but my account is still on probation so I'm not allowed to post links yet.
Perhaps can contact the seller and ask for availability if interested. It's quite a recent model, so definitely not discontinued.

GL.iNet is probably our best bet for pre-installed open source WRT routers, since it's Shopee based. If you purchase a DD-WRT/Tomato pre-flashed Asus or Netgear model from somewhere like Flashrouters, you'll probably have to deal with custom paperwork to release the delivery, because our country has some weird rule pertaining to imported devices containing wireless radios, plus the cost after currency conversion and delivery will we much higher. For Asus models, it's probably better to buy a Merlin supported model locally anyway.

Not sure about local businesses selling pre-flashed WRT. I think there was someone offering those on this foum's marketplace once, but that was some time ago.

any data point on how soon a upgrade "offer" is given to new subscriber ? I signed on to 300Mbps in December
*
None. The only "data" you can use to approximate is the number of competing ISPs available to people in your housing area/estate and if there are already a lot of people switching away from Unifi at that moment. TM only gives out offers when they feel their market share is threatened (that's why all their offers usually involve signing a new contract). Few years ago when I was upgraded from 300 to 500, it was because Maxis Fibre just started having coverage in my area.

"We unifi here knows about ALLO under TNB, we already have a lot of customers transfer to there, but we are way better than allo fiber, specially on technical support and unifi tv"
LOL!! Unifi TV has nothing I want to watch. The unit has been in the cardboard box since the day it arrived, inside a drawer.
Their technical support doesn't have any technical knowledge whatsoever. It's like I'm talking to a bomoh instead of an engineer.

If they ever dare to offer me some new pricing that's lower than competitor, I'll counter tiao them by saying they don't include the "hidden cost" of me having to rent a OVH VPS and buy an OpenWRT router to enable VPN for my house just to solve their shit routing issue.

do you guys install and use FiberHome app on your phone?

ngl the app look kinda fishy
*
Majority of Malaysian apps are fishy. So fishy that when you launch the app and bring your face close to your phone you can probably smell real fish (usually the rotten kind).

Last time when MCO and TNB don't send bill to house, had to download their app. The moment you launch it copied your clipboard contents. For what?

If I remember correctly, last time the Maxis or HotLink app also try to access your microphone, and if you denied the permission the app would crash. Only after many people report did the situation change.

TM, Maxis, Digi, etc...even f*#king Family Mart... all the same. They want to access things that are not required. For me, whenever possible, I just prefer to use web portal instead of app (because web browser easier to control what scripts you can block) and pay via bank app or JomPay.

No such thing as privacy respecting company in M'sia. All those calls you get from insurance companies or WhatsApp messages from property agents; Where do you think they get your details from? 90% of the time it's sold to them by marketing firms that have purchased it from your telco or utility company.

A lot more, but Time and Allo is best if you can get it, just Allo not coming to any old location with UniFi, they only pulling cable to location that have
1. smart meter
2. new house
3. No Fiber like UniFi or Maxis

Why the smart meter requirement? They route the fiber via the electricity meter??
I thought it's just pull their cable to the pole (usually service road behind the house) and gantung a box there, similar to TM.
