Guys, just installed mine with 300Mbps unifi package and immediately headache for that.
My house is double storey, and due to constraint, i have to route the fiber cable through the roof and put the router on 2nd floor living room.
Problem is, we need 5Ghz to fully utilise 300Mbps (even 100Mbps), and downstair can't receive 5GHz at all.
Can anyone recommend any good router + mesh system that can cater for full house 5GHz coverage? Budget is not an issue here.
Thanks.

QUOTE(YoungMan @ Feb 5 2022, 10:25 AM) You will be surprise. TM has 1001 pricing for all their plan. Some even pay RM129 for StayWithUnifi 300mbps. You need to keep watch this thread because from time to time there will be promo. Some 300mbps comes with ultimate TV plan, some comes with mesh, some only internet. Thw unifi just started at my area, and based on all the brochure i received, only got 199 for 300Mbps, mine come with ultimate TV plan though but i got astro, so not very useful to me

Installed Unifi 300Mbps on Thursday, after that away from home for 2 days, today back home the modem show red blinking light at 'LOS' indicator. After reset the port via unifi live chat still the same. Very very poor luck here. This post has been edited by coolkwc: Feb 6 2022, 12:16 AM

QUOTE(aniq8676 @ Feb 6 2022, 12:50 AM) there are several possibilities. 1. issue on fiber cable (make sure the fiber cable is not bent) or 2. issues on the fiber port on the modem (make sure the fiber port connection on the modem is not loose and dusty) or 3. issues on DP. I suspect the outdoor splicing is break.

Guys, anyone here your fiber cable near your modem is using splicing rather than connector? How is the durability? The installer told me TM now ban the installer to use connector to join the head themself, instead must splice and fuse the cable pre-mounted with header using splicing machine like below which i feel is silly, because the splicing break multiple times during installation and i don't feel it is secure, scare later break again if pulled accidently (you know kids) He told me this is a controversial decision by TM because seems they want to benefit the cloni who sell the pre-mount header and splicing machine. QUOTE(aniq8676 @ Feb 7 2022, 02:47 PM) For the latest mesh wifi, TM will come to your premise for installation. You will be given 2 fiberhome routers SR-1041Y to form mesh network wa, their fiberhome router is mesh ready oh...i just order Asus XT8 to replace it.

QUOTE(aniq8676 @ Feb 7 2022, 03:00 PM) TM now uses this method for the installation process. Unless your premise built-in with Fiber-wall-socket, they will give you this cable. (depend on the installer) No, this is how they fuse my optic cable

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/router_password_recovery.htmlSharing just in case if: 1. You want to change router and enter PPPoE ID & Password but 2. You don't know your current PPPoE ID and password and 3. You don't want TM to reset your password

Anyway i still need to finished my 2 years contract before can jump although i know my current price can get me a 1Gbps Allo Fiber which is going to available year end or next year, but i just can't wait any longer.
