I am using Asus router (replacing) the router provided by TM. I had enabled IPV6 on my Asus router but OpenVPN and Remote Connection Access (to my Asus router) all not working. Although Asus router show DDNS is up sad.gif

Any advice to solve the problem?

Does your DDNS service provide/update AAAA records for IPv6?

Anyway it should work. Basically every device on your LAN that has IPv6 will be accessible from the internet. Not necessarily a good thing so ensure your router's firewalls are up to snuff.

Here, https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=88431256 , I tested using IPv6 to connect to my iPhone which was running a http server. And it works.
*
Not a very technical person. To check is my DDNS Provider (am using Asus DDNS) provide AAAA. I should use nslookup? I checked using www.nslookup.io, No AAAA records found.

My Asus Router is my VPN Server, i tried to connect (client) using my iPhone with UMobile and public WiFi (Tung Shin Hospital, provider also TM but i am not sure did Tung Shin Hospital enable IPV6). Both network (UMobile and Public Wifi) unable reach my Asus router/VPN Server (i checked the log).

If i understand your explanation correctly. My iPhone should be able to reach Asus router/VPN Server because UMobile also support IPV6. However, that is not the case today.

One more point is that from iPhone (using OpenVPN APP), i can see it is keep trying to connect using IPV4.

Does VPN server on router can work with IPv6?
This Unifi move going to break all my setup.
*
Already break mine setup. I am using Asus router and it does not support VPN on IPV6 (if my understanding on Asus router correctly). From my mobile phone (on IPV6), OpenVPN only trying to connect using IPV4 (although i had set the APP setting support both IPV4 and IPV6). Hence, i conclude (based on my testing) Asus router not support VPN on IPV6 (and i hope i am wrong as well) biggrin.gif

Asus DDNS supports IPv6 - I only noticed from September 2021 though - you can check here http://iplookup.asus.com/nslookup.php

It's OpenVPN Server that doesn't support IPv6 https://openvpn.net/vpn-server-resources/li...-access-server/

On OpenVPN App setting. I give 2 options-IPV4 and IPV6. OpenVPN able to lookup my resolve my Asus Domain but it is only trying to establish connection using IPV4 (towards my Asus router). But connection drop due to timeout.

FYI. Asus team reply another thread "...still testing the DDNS with IPv6, as for the VPN..." biggrin.gif

As I said, after tunnel is created, IPv6 and IPv4 can both go through. But tunnel creation depends solely on IPv4. It can’t use IPv6 to create the tunnel.

Needs OpenVPN server to be updated to allow this.

Thanks. Now i am why OpenVPN is not working.

I'm using Merlin fw, supposed able to support IPv6 but I disable IPv6 on mine so can't test it.
I found this tutorial, don't know will it work. Can't understand half of what written.
